(KGTV) — Four people were arrested after a 14-year-old was caught smuggling crystal meth through an East County checkpoint.The boy had three bundles of methamphetamine strapped to his body underneath his clothing as he traveled through a State Route 94 checkpoint on Monday night, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. A border K9 patrol of the vehicle during questioning alerted agents to the narcotics.During questioning of the 14-year-old and three other people in the vehicle, a second inspection with K9s was performed. The agents says they found three backpacks in the rear of the vehicle, containing 49 plastic-wrapped packages. The backpacks contained about 50 pounds of methamphetamine.The driver, a 34-year-old U.S. citizen, was arrested along with a 16-year-old US citizen and two Mexican national ages 14 and 16. Border agents seized the vehicle and turned over the narcotics and individuals to officers with the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force.Since Oct. 1, 2019, San Diego Sector CBP says it has seized nearly 1,100 pounds of meth worth nearly .1 million on the street. 1135

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — It’s easy to spot deer or wild turkeys along Parmalee Gulch Road north of Highway 285 in Jefferson County. But what's catching the eyes of speeding drivers now is a creature of myth and legend.On Ron DiDonato's Indian Hills property is a 5-foot pink pig with wings that flap, attached to a 10-foot pole.“I knew this would be an attention-getter and it definitely has been,” DiDonato said. “At first, I didn’t know if it was going to be good or not because they were stopping in the street to look at it."DiDonato said he decided to create the flying pig to play off the saying that the only time traffic would slow down on Parmalee Gulch Road is when pigs fly.“I couldn’t go out, couldn’t do anything, so I decided to do this just to slow the traffic down and it sure has helped,” DiDonato said. “I’m not an artist of any sort, so I did papier-maché, and to make it weatherproof I fiberglassed it. James Shaw never intended to become a hero when he walked into Waffle House on Murfreesboro Pike in Antioch, Tennessee at 3 a.m. on Sunday, but the 29-year-old single father likely saved dozens of lives when he managed to wrestle a loaded AR-15 from the hands of a gunman.James and his friend BJ McMurry had been at a bar nearby on Saturday night. They had initially stopped at the Waffle House on Bell Road but decided it was too crowded and instead drove to the Murfreesboro Pike restaurant, not knowing the chaos and carnage that would soon unfold.For James, a Tennessee State University graduate, the gunfire at first sounded like dozens of plates falling from behind the counter. As the front windows began shattering though, he knew something was wrong."It was pretty chaotic," James said a few hours after the shooting.As Metro Police said Travis Reinking was unloading round after round inside the busy restaurant, James noticed the gun jammed and saw an opportunity to act."It wasn't a process of thinking, it was more of a now... I have to do this now or it's not gonna be. If I let him reload this weapon there won't be another chance. It was like shooting fish in a barrel," James recalled.James Shaw managed to wrestle the weapon from the hands of Travis Reinking. The barrel of the gun was so hot it singed the skin off of his hands and fingers.
