TUCSON, Arizona — As teachers vote on a potential walk out their employers are trying to figure out what to do if that happens.Tucson Unified School District Superintendent Gabriel Trujillo said Tuesday a prolonged walk out that affects final exams could jeopardize high school graduation schedules.He says TUSD is trying to find a way to keep schools open and busses running so students who rely on schools for meals can eat. That would include a skeletal bus schedule and at least some staff coming to work. “Schools physically would be open, but instructional services would be closed. United States Army recruiters around the country will participate in the Army's first nationwide, virtual hiring campaign with the goal of attracting 10,000 new soldiers over three days next week.The campaign will last from June 30-July 2, according to a news release from the U.S. Army.“This is a concerted effort across those three days that really gets everybody in the Army on board," LTC Brittany Simmons, Commander, Indianapolis Army Recruiting Battalion told theindychannel.com. "So you’re going to see the commanding generals at Fort Bragg, Fort Hood, Fort Drum, all of them are going to be involved," Simmons continued. "And so it’s that total Army effort. And while there’s an element that’s ambitious with us, that’s what the Army likes. Turkey on Wednesday intensified its clash with the United States, announcing heavy new tariffs on some American products including cars, alcohol and tobacco.Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay said on Twitter that the measures were in response to "the deliberate attack of the US administration on our economy."The Turkish government has doubled its retaliatory tariffs on American cars to 120 percent and on alcoholic drinks to 140 percent, according to a notice published Wednesday. Victims who endured mental, physical, and sexual abuse at the hands of wealthy Palm Beach hedge fund manager Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators can now start filing compensation claims against his estate.Earlier this month, a U.S. Virgin Islands probate judge gave the go-ahead for the Epstein Victims' Compensation Program to begin accepting claims starting on Thursday, June 25.An estimated 0 million has been allocated to the fund."Jeffrey Epstein has failed, and his victims have won," said attorney Spencer Kuvin, who represents four of Epstein's accusers. "Hopefully this is the first page of the final chapter of the Epstein saga."Speaking at a news conference on Thursday, Kuvin said the fund is only open for less than a year, and money will be distributed to victims based upon their allegations that can be proven.Victims who have more evidence and more significant damages will receive more money, Kuvin said."It is imperative that anyone who believes they're a victim of Jeffrey Epstein come forward now. Your identities will remain confidential throughout the process," said Kuvin. "It is for all victims to apply. This includes women that have never come forward before. It includes women that have filed lawsuits. It includes women whose only evidence is their tragic memory of the events. Tyler Glenn, lead singer of the popular band Neon Trees, is recovering after suffering a stroke last week.In a post to Instagram on Monday, Glenn, 36, said that he woke up Thursday feeling "foggy and not seeing clearly out of my right eye."Glenn wrote that he held off going to the hospital to see if his condition would improve, but visited an ophthalmologist when he woke up the next morning feeling the same way.The doctor found a retinal edema in Glenn's eye and told him he had suffered a stroke. Glenn was admitted to Intermountain Medical Center for cardiology and neurological tests."I’m quite freaked out being 36, ostensibly healthy and having this happen." said Glenn. "I’m still awaiting reasons why, although my labs and the results show a clean bill of health in my heart and blood."Glenn says he still has cloudy vision in his eye, but was told the condition could dissipate.Glenn ended the post with a health recommendation for all his fans."I appreciate the love and support, and hope I can at least get an answer as to why this occurred.
