A 14-year-old girl was killed and four others injured when falling rocks hit their car at the Glacier National Park in Montana.The rocks hit the top of the car Monday night and shattered the rear windshield. In addition to killing the girl, rocks also injured her parents and two other children in the vehicle, the park said in a statement.It estimated the rocks were between fist-sized and 12 inches in diameter along with enough debris from the rockfall to fill the bed of a pickup truck. The incident happened near the East Tunnel on the popular and mountainous Going-to-the-Sun Road.An ambulance that responded could not airlift the girl because of her unstable condition, the park said.Flight paramedics traveled with her using ground ambulance to Kalispell, Montana. She died while being transported to a local hospital, the park said."The two adults suffered significant bruises and were transported to area hospitals. The two other children in the vehicle had minor injuries and also went by ambulance to the hospital," the park said.The victims were visiting from Utah, and authorities will release their names once family notifications are complete. Going-to-the-Sun Road was closed briefly Monday night while crew cleared the rocks and a tow truck removed the vehicle.The last fatal injury from rockfall on the Going-to-the-Sun Road was in 1996 when a vehicle was struck, according to the park. 1417

A Beach City, Ohio, woman was arrested for allegedly running an officer off the road while police were chasing her boyfriend.Angela Moseley, 43, is facing several charges, including felonious assault, complicity to failure to comply and obstruction of justice. She was picked up Thursday afternoon in Akron by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.Police released body and dash camera video of the incident, which took place Sunday afternoon.According to Sgt. Nicholas Antonides, the video shows a gray Cadillac, driven by Moseley, swerve towards to the left just as Massillon Officer Anthony Crabtree starts to pass her Beach City. The officer briefly went off the road, but was able to maintain control."It was a brief thing. However, it was a big deal. It could have turned into something catastrophic," Antonides said. "It could have cost an officer's life. It could have cost her life."Officer don't believe the maneuver was an accident. At the time, officers were chasing Wayne Penick, 44, of Beach City. Police said their investigation revealed Penick called Moseley during the pursuit. 1127

A 4-year-old girl and four family members are recovering after a bobcat attack on Mt. Graham. Two campgrounds are closed with Arizona Game and Fish trying to catch and kill the cat they suspect has rabies. Has more on what officials are calling an extreme and bizarre animal attack. Game and Fish says they won't know for sure until they catch and test the animal, but this is simply not the behavior of a healthy bobcat. They say it needs to be destroyed. “The behavior is extreme by any reasonable standard. This is not someone coming across a bobcat and quickly being bit and the bobcat running off, this is sustained attacks on human beings,” said Arizona Game and Fish Spokesperson Mark Hart. Graham survived a traumatic experience Sunday. “A year-old girl ran behind the tent, her mother heard screaming, and they came around the tent to see she was being attacked by a bobcat, on the ground bitten at least once in the head.”The girl's father, two uncles, and a teenage girl came to her aid and the bobcat attacked them too. Hart says mountain lions can target children, but a healthy bobcat never would. “A bobcat is going to be more interested in an antelope squirrel or a rodent, not a human being it’s too big, the child was bigger than the bobcat.”The girl was treated for rabies exposure at a nearby hospital. Her family needed to go to two other hospitals to get the vaccine. All have been released. “Once symptoms onset rabies is almost always fatal. If you are exhibiting symptoms the vaccine won't work but if you get it before symptoms onset your life will be saved.”Shannon and Snow Flat campgrounds have been closed to the public. “We are on scene today setting traps and using predator calls in an attempt to lure the bobcat in, it has to be destroyed.”Hart says rabies are more common in foxes, bats, and skunks but the disease can be spread to other animals. A man walked into a California police department Monday and told officers he had killed four people, police say.One of the bodies was in the car the suspect drove to the Mt. Shasta Police Department. His three other victims were in his apartment more than 200 miles away, Roseville Police Department Captain Josh Simon said in a Monday news conference.Roseville officers learned of the man's confession around noon, when they received a call from Mt. Shasta police, who detained the suspect after he came in.Roseville is about 20 miles from Sacramento and about 212 miles from Mt. Shasta.This is an ongoing investigation in coordination with the Mt. Shasta police department, Simon said, adding police don't believe the quadruple homicide was a random act. The suspects and the victim likely knew each other, police said.Police did not identify the suspect or the victims."The sole suspect involved in this incident is in custody and we do not believe there is any ongoing threat to our community," he said.The killings, he said, will likely take a toll on the Roseville community."This can really have an effect on all our first responders and people who may or may not know these victims.
