(KGTV) — Tourists tossing coins into Walt Disney World's fountains this year went toward fulfilling the wishes of hundreds of homeless individuals in Florida.The theme park donated ,000 in wishing well coins found in the park's fountains to the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida. The coins went toward making the coalition's meal for the coalition's nearly 650 residents.The group provides housing, emergency services, and diversion for local homeless men, women, and children in Central Florida."Every year, thousands of guests toss coins into fountains at our Resort and make a wish, and this year the funds collected from those fountains are being given to the Coalition to help make their annual Thanksgiving meal service possible," according to Tajiana Ancora-Brown, director of external affairs at Walt Disney World Resort.According to the Associated Press, the feast required seven kitchens, 250 pounds of turkey, 60 gallons of gravy and cranberry compote, 300 pounds of cornbread stuffing, mashed potatoes and green beans, 800 dinner rolls, and 72 apple and pumpkin pies.Walt Disney World also donated hundreds of to-go containers for the meal. 1175

Looking at delay times, commute, and amenities, the website considered San Diego the best thanks to its, "healthy dose of amenities, superior record of on-time flights and incredibly convenient location."San Diego Airport's 30-plus dining options, including favorites like Stone Brewing, Pannikin Coffee & Tea, and Phil's BBQ, boosted the location past last year's winner, Phoenix Sky Harbor, which was hit with a runway closing between January and February last year.RELATED: UC San Diego ranks among the best universities in the U.S., worldAccording to the FAA's latest data from 2017, San Diego International's average gate arrival delay was 3.7 minutes over an average of 807 flights in and out of the airport daily. (KGTV) — The number of troops stationed at the U.S.-Mexico border will decrease from 5,600 to about 4,000 troops and their deployment will be extended into January, according to the Associated Press.The AP, citing U.S. officials speaking on the condition of anonymity, said a formal request submitted by the Department of Homeland Security Friday requested the additional support. The request has yet to be approved by Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, though military officials have been working with DHS to help develop the request, the AP reports.Troops were deployed by President Donald Trump in response to a migrant caravan from Central America.
