(KGTV) -- Three men riding in the trunk of a car during an apparent human-smuggling attempt in the East County highlands were injured Tuesday, one seriously, when the driver crashed the sedan at high speed while trying to evade the U.S. Border Patrol.The 18-year-old driver of the orange Mazda 6 sped off when federal personnel directed him into a secondary inspection area at a USBP checkpoint on Interstate 8 in Pine Valley about 11:45 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.Border Patrol agents gave chase, tailing the car to the west as the young man fled at speeds exceeding 100 mph, CHP public-affairs Officer Travis Garrow said.RELATED: Two DACA recipients arrested for involvement in human smuggling?Near state Route 79, the suspect lost control of the sedan while trying to use the southern shoulder of I-8 to pass slower-moving traffic.  The Mazda veered off the north side of the freeway, struck a wooden post and tumbled down a grassy embankment, overturning on the way down before coming to rest on its wheels.One of the occupants of the trunk, a 31-year-old man, was ejected during the crash and was badly hurt, Garrow said.The other two, ages 27 and 19, suffered moderately serious injuries. Acosta initially was in the driver's seat when he began stabbing Thy, who was seated in the passenger seat, the statement said.He then got out of the driver's side of the vehicle, going around to the passenger's side and resuming stabbing Thy before returning to the driver's side when she attempted to get away, the statement said.Thy died at a hospital. PARKLAND, Fla. — The brother of the man accused of killing 17 people at a Florida high school in February was arrested on Monday for reportedly trespassing at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where his brother allegedly carried out the attack.According to a Broward Sheriff's Office arrest report, Zachary Cruz, 18, trespassed on school grounds after being warned to keep away from the school. PHOENIX — Three people, including two children, have died after being stabbed near 19th and Glendale avenues Sunday morning.Phoenix police say they are conducting a homicide investigation after they found a 7-year old boy, 9-year-old girl and an 18-year-old woman who had been stabbed to death inside of an apartment. If you’re caught, you could pay a fine of up to a thousand dollars and go to jail for up to six months.Thomas Flores says his neighborhood has become a home to wild pigeons. “I can't even come out of my house without having pigeons flying by my head, on my roof, on the street, and the sidewalk - on my lawn,” says Flores.These birds' poop can damage your roof or your air-conditioning unit. Even worse, pigeons and their droppings carry over 60 diseases.When it comes to these nuisance birds, Todd Wagner of a Better Day Pigeon Control has seen it all.“From the roof caving in from so much feces. The gas stations also, I've seen some of them. So much feces the wind and the rain. If it gets a good rain it will blown right over,” says Wagner.He recommends taking these measures to help keep pigeons out.“Don't feed the animals outside, cats and dogs outside they love that food. If you have a spillover on your pool, get something to cover that up," Wagner said.Nearby Henderson, Nevada passed a similar law back in 2011 banning people from feeding pigeons. 1300
