CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- Frustration is growing after a second fire broke out at the Teresina Apartments in Chula Vista on Sunday night. Witnesses tell 10News they saw a group of teens playing in the park near the apartments and a few minutes later they noticed the fire. William Maher lives in the apartment complex. He tells 10News he was the one who made the call to the fire department. Maher says the teens were recording the flames and laughing. He says they ran away when he yelled at him. The fire was so close to the apartments that the heat shattered several windows and melted window blinds.Sunday night's fire is the second fire in less than three weeks in that same area. On October 25th, fire crews responded to a fire just feet away. Maher hopes police will find the teens before someone gets hurt. He's also hoping parents look through their teen's phones to see if they can find the videos that were recorded. Anyone with information is asked to call the Chula Vista Police.  1050

CINCINNATI -- Police officers trying to arrest a man ended up fatally shooting him and wounding one of their own after the man struggled and drew a realistic pellet gun.Police were serving a robbery warrant for 20-year-old James Clay in an apartment in Cincinnati at about 3:40 p.m. Friday, according to Police Chief Eliot Isaac.The officers knocked, but there was no response. Then an employee of Talbert House, which owns the building, helped the officers inside. They immediately encountered Clay, Isaac said. 530

(KGTV) - A fire in a drainage tunnel had Chula Vista firefighters donning protective masks Thursday.The fire broke out about 4:30 Thursday afternoon at Eastlake Parkway and Otay Lakes Road, near the Vons and Lowe's shopping centers. It was quickly knocked down."Witnesses reported smoke billowing from a storm drain and several people running from the area," Chula Vista Fire IAFF local 2180 officials posted on twitter. "Please give our firefighters room while they work."The Chula Vista Fire Department said juveniles started the fire in the drain and left the area. CHULA VISTA (KGTV) -- The Chula Vista Elementary School District says families can now pick up both breakfast and lunch meals in one trip, the district announced Wednesday.CVESD is working with families to make the meal service more accessible and increase participation. Previously, the service was offered over to two different sessions for breakfast and lunch requiring families to make two trips.The hours are: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. each day, the district said.Schools throughout the county are continuing to provide free meals to students in need amid the COVID-19 outbreak.CVESD is also extending the "grab-and-go" meal service at all nine school sites through spring break, March 23-27 and March 30 to April 3."Students who are receiving the meals must be physically present.
