Take a peak into Jamya Wiley's world."I'm a varsity cheerleader, I'm on the varsity track team, varsity cross country team, I'm in the national honor society," Wiley said. At 17-years-old, the shy but joyful teenager is on a mission."College is really expensive," she said.From an early age Jamya decided to hit the books and now her years of hard work and weighted 6.1 GPA are paying off.The Fort Pierce, Florida teen has earned more than million in scholarships."It was amazing to know that I was that, I was the top person, that I got the most amount of scholarships out of any student that ever attended Lincoln Park," she told Scripps station WPTV in West Palm Beach, Florida. Jamya said she knew success was in her future, but others couldn't always see it."At honor roll ceremonies, or things where I would get awards, people would come up to me and say, 'wow'. I would appreciate it, but it was kind of like they didn't expect it or it's uncommon," she said. The million in scholarships won't make Jamya take it easy. Taylor Swift?is helping a fan of hers in need.The singer donated ,500 to a GoFundMe page that is raising money for the family of a mother, Lauriann Bartell, who has been in a coma for the past three years.Bartell's 19-year-old daughter, Sadie Bartell, tweeted a link to the GoFundMe page and said that her mother went into a coma two days before she went to see Swift in concert. "Hey guys. I'm really nervous to post this. Please help if you can and pray for my family. I'm sorry I never said anything sooner and that I'm suddenly asking for help. I love you guys so much," she wrote in a message she posted with the tweet.She added, "I'm grateful to Taylor for keeping me afloat through it all."Swift made the donation to the online platform over the weekend with the message, "Love, Taylor, Meredith and Olivia Swift." Meredith and Olivia are her two cats.Bartell took to Twitter after Swift's donation and posted a message in disbelief. State Superintendent Tony Evers defeated incumbent Gov. Scott Walker and will become the next governor of Wisconsin. Evers, a Democrat, won with 50 percent of the vote over the Republican governor Walker. The two were locked in a tight race, with the latest Marquette University Law poll showing the race at a dead heat. Walker has served as Wisconsin’s governor since 2011. Walker and Evers traded barbs over a number of topics, including healthcare. The two disagreed on whether Republicans would keep pre-existing conditions in the healthcare policy while dismantling other portions of the Affordable Care Act. A key element of Walker’s campaign was the issue of taxes, claiming if elected Evers would certainly raise them. In particular, he said Evers would raise the gas tax in the state of Wisconsin. Evers denied having such plans days before Election Day. The two also focused on education in Wisconsin. Evers, the state superintendent, said in a rally the night before the election he planned for a .5 billion increase in K-12 education. It can be a desk, the kitchen table, or an empty guest room.You also want to get them involved in making the space functional."Whether that’s adding some posters that inspire them or whether it’s just getting color-coded notebooks that they’re going to use," Flenner said. "That actually can bring some excitement for them for this new school year when it’s a really hard time for them."Once you got that figured out, it is time to set up what Flenner calls a “pace chart.” It’s basically the agenda your kid is familiar with, but for you too. Some parents put it on a big whiteboard or just a piece of paper attached to the fridge."Parents can really do that important part of organizing them so that they can really focus on their job which is to learn the content," Flenner said.She also suggests after getting access to the virtual learning platform, go in and click on everything. Then, organize different binders or folders for each course.If your kids are sharing devices with each other or you, make a folder on the desktop for their own work. TEMECULA, Calif. (KGTV) -- Border Patrol agents arrested a man Sunday after discovering more than 0,000 worth of drugs hidden inside his SUV. According to Border Patrol, agents spotted a man in a Ford Expedition swerving in and out of lanes on I-15 near Temecula around 11:15 Sunday. A short distance later, agents stopped the man and questioned the driver when the agency says a K-9 alerted agents that there may be drugs inside the vehicle. After a search, agents discovered six bundles of cocaine and two bundles of black tar heroin inside a panel behind the driver’s side rear-quarter panel. Another search at a nearby station revealed eight more bundles of cocaine and two more bundles of the heroin. The value of the cocaine is estimated to have a street value of 4,000 and the heroin’s value is estimated at ,700. The 39-year-old man, who agents say is a U.S. citizen, was arrested for possession of narcotics. Since the beginning of October 2018, agents have seized 865 pounds of cocaine and 2,648 ounces of heroin. 1041
