(KGTV) - Doorbell camera video of a coyote following a man on a dog walk in Santee may be another example of coyotes becoming more aggressive in the area.On Monday after 9 p.m. on a quiet residential street, Ring doorbell camera video captures a man walking his dog. Moments later, something emerges from the shadows. It a coyote, and it's in an hurry. The video posted on the Ring app is titled "Beware coyote chasing a man with dog." That's exactly what appears to be happening. In the video, the coyote runs down the street before cutting in the man's direction. It's not clear if the coyote did catch up to the man or dog.Last week, 10News reported on Michelle Cimmarrusti's morning walk with Presley, an 8-year-old Silky Terrier. It unfolded on Palm Glen Drive, about a half mile from the site of the newest video. Two coyotes emerged from a bush and attacking Presley, while he was on his leash. Presley lunged, snapping his collar. He and the coyotes would end in a condo complex, where Presley was killed.Presley was the second dog killed by a coyote in the neighborhood in the last few weeks. Experts say coyotes attacking a leashed dog is a sign they're getting more aggressive in an area, and less afraid of humans, whether is food scarcity or the unintentional feeding of coyotes. 1315

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — Isaias snapped trees and knocked out power while blowing through the Bahamas on Saturday.The storm made landfall over Grand Bahama Island on Saturday. The Bahamas are still attempting to rebuild from Hurricane Dorian in 2019, a storm that killed dozens and caused heavy damage to the island chain. The storm will then head toward the Florida coast, where officials have closed beaches, parks and coronavirus testing sites.As of the 11 a.m. Sunday advisory from the National Hurricane Center, Isaias was packing maximum sustained winds of 65 mph and was moving north-northwest at 8 mph.Florida authorities say they've prepared shelters, but so far don't expect to have to evacuate people. Ron DeSantis says the most important thing now is to "remain vigilant.” The U.S. National Hurricane Center says the maximum sustained winds weakened slightly to 80 miles per hour Saturday morning as it moved toward the Florida coast.Current NOAA forecasts show that Isaias could make landfall near Florida's east coast on Sunday. SANTA ANA (CNS) - Two more people in Orange County have tested positive locally for the novel coronavirus, health officials said today, but federal test results are still pending to confirm the diagnoses.According to the Orange County Health Care Agency, the cases are a man in his 60s and a woman in her 30s who had recently traveled to countries with widespread outbreaks of what is officially known as COVID-19. The pair tested positive in Orange County, but test results were sent to the U.S.Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to confirm the results. "The more you look for something, the more likely you are to find it," said Dr. Nichole Quick, the county's health officer. "Now that our Public Health Laboratory is able to perform COVID-19 testing, we expect to see more cases here in Orange County. Our residents should take everyday precautions to prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses like covering your coughs and sneezes, avoiding touching your face, and washing your hands frequently."Another person in the county who contracted the virus earlier this year has fully recovered.The news comes as organizers of the second biggest annual convention in Anaheim announced the postponement of the event due to concerns over the virus. (KGTV)- California State University San Marcos is preparing students and staff for possible power outages in light of the San Diego Gas and Electric warnings due to fire.At least three CSU schools have been shut down as a result of high winds and power outages. Staff members in San Marcos say they are keeping a close eye on those other universities.Classes proceeded as usual for CSUSM students on Thursday morning. Students say they have been keeping up the outages at other schools via social media. “For a second, I panicked; I really didn’t know it was San Francisco,” says freshman Nancy Salazar Soto. “I was like, oh, it might be me. It might be here in San Marcos.”She believes it would be hard losing power at school, but things would be tougher for the students who live on campus, like freshman Hannah Whitener. “It’s kind of a little bit sketch, you don’t really know everyone around you yet,” says Whitener. “I mean, my freezer, I’m kind of concerned about that.”CSU San Marcos sent out a memo to students late Wednesday afternoon warning them of the possibility of an outage and how to be prepared. “Make sure your car is gassed up in case you do need to relocate. Make sure you’ve got a flashlight handy," says CSUSM Vice President for Community Advancement Cathy Baur. “You’re students; you’re working on their essays and those projects. Make sure you’re saving it on your computer.” Baur says fire prevention is vital. The university knows firsthand after fires in 2014 caused emergency evacuations. “We had to close the campus just days before commencement because the fires were surrounding us and had to do an evacuation of campus,” says Baur. “It’s something that we as campus community are familiar with, we’ve lived through, and so we know how important it is to be prepared and to take any precautions that we can.”The university advises all students to check their emails and social media pages routinely.
