(KGTV) -- The state’s Department of Motor Vehicles is reopening its remaining field offices that were shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.Starting Thursday, June 11, 169 DMV locations across California will reopen for customers that have appointments and provide service for limited transactions that require an in-person visit.DMV field offices were closed in March due to the coronavirus pandemic but select locations around the state began reopening in May with limited service.Although field offices will reopen, many services -- including behind-the-wheel drive tests – are not available for the time being. Officials said behind-the-wheel testing will return in the coming weeks.DMV officials are urging customers to continue “to use its online services, expanded virtual services and other service channels to complete transactions, including eligible driver license and vehicle registration renewals.”Among the limited services being offered at field offices:Paying registration for an impounded vehicle due to registration-related issuesReinstating a suspended or revoked river licensepplying for a reduced-fee or no-fee identification cardProcessing commercial driver license transactionsApplying for a disabled person parking placardsAdding ambulance certificate or firefighter endorsement to a driver licenseVerifying transit training document to drive transit busProcess DMV express customers for REAL ID transactions, if time and space allowVehicle verificationsDMV officials said the department is rescheduling any appointments that were canceled during the closure and notifying customers of new appointment dates.At each field office, employees will be wearing face coverings, practicing physical distancing protocols, and will have access to disinfecting wipes, hand sanitizer, field shields, gloves, and soap and water.All customers will be required to wear a face covering and remain at least six feet apart from others when in line. (KGTV) - Neighbors who live off a quiet Rancho Pe?asquitos road say they are fed up with crime, litter, and abandoned cars steps from their front doors.Danielle Salice, who lives in the area, says the region's high cost of living is keeping her from moving. "I'm paying good money to live in a place that's beautiful, San Diego, let alone owning my condo," she said. "But I'm not being able to use my neighborhood."Salice lives in a condo complex at the end of Azuega Street in Rancho Pe?asquitos. She and her neighbors are reporting drug paraphernalia, abandoned cars, and a series of car break-ins. On Friday, there were two piles of broken car glass in the road. One man who declined to give his name said his car was broken into last month, and his daughter's softball gear was stolen. Salice said it's an ongoing problem on the road. "As a single-family person, I don't feel safe walking on this street," she said. Here's the problem - Azuaga Street is a long straightaway largely hidden from view, just south of the 56. There are no homes on the final stretch of the road - one side has a retaining wall up a hill. The other is mostly brush. It ends at a condo complex called Terra Vista. "There's no lighting, and this is an easy place to hide," Salice said. Salice said her HOA has discussed adding a gate to the complex and a guard, but they are cost prohibitive. (KGTV) — Washington state health officials say a patient has died of the novel coronavirus, the first COVID-19 related death in the United States.The victim was described as a male patient at EvergreenHealth Medical Center, who was in his 50s with underlying medical conditions.The governor of Washington state declared a state of emergency Saturday after a man's death.More than 50 people in a Kirkland, Wash., Life Care nursing facility are sick and being tested for the virus, health officials added.
