(KGTV and AP) — The body of a woman found in a shallow Northern California grave may be an aspiring model and actress from Macedonia who vanished in Los Angeles last month, authorities said.The Nevada County Sheriff's Office said the body found Tuesday has not been identified. Los Angeles Police said they believe the remains are those of 25-year-old Adea Shabani, KABC reported. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.Sheriff's Lt. Rob Bringolf said Los Angeles police detectives searching for Shabani led investigators to the grave 56 miles (90 kilometers) north of Sacramento. Shabani was last seen in Hollywood on Feb. 23.An acquaintance of Shabani's fatally shot himself in the head last week. The California Highway Patrol said 33-year-old Chris Spotz led officers on a Southern California vehicle pursuit that ended with his death in Riverside County. HARRISON, Ohio -- A dad used heroin in a gas station parking lot while his 2-year-old daughter sat in the backseat, according to a police affidavit. The father then resisted arrest and had to be subdued with a stun gun, police said.Brenton Sturgill, 37, of Harrison, had two hypodermic needles -- one “still loaded with heroin” -- when he was arrested Saturday at the BP station at 9055 Dry Fork Road, according to the affidavit.Sturgill resisted arrest, leading to a “physical altercation,” according to the arresting officer. He has been charged with using illegal drugs, endangering children and resisting arrest. He appeared in court Monday morning. 686

Heavy rain caused a central Texas river to rise to a near-record level in about a day, leading to a bridge collapse, flooded homes and evacuations.The Llano River rose to nearly 40 feet Tuesday in the city of Llano -- about 35 feet higher than it was just 24 hours earlier before -- thanks to 8 to 10 inches of rain that fell in the area over the past two days, the National Weather Service said.A few miles away, in Kingsland, the swollen river rushed against the top of the RM 2900 bridge for hours, eventually causing it to collapse, video from CNN affiliate KEYE showed. No one appeared to be on the bridge, and no injuries were immediately reported.Video from Darlene Walthall also showed the river washing over the span before the collapse.The Llano County Office of Emergency Management ordered people living within a quarter mile of the river to evacuate Tuesday morning.The Llano River meets the Colorado River in Kingsland. Houses near the Colorado were flooded, resident Terri Kleen said.
