DANBURY, N.C. (AP) — The owner of a North Carolina speedway advertised "Bubba Rope" for sale on a social media marketplace page days after NASCAR found a noose in the garage stall of Black driver Bubba Wallace. Mike Fulp, the owner of the half-mile 311 Speedway in Stokes County, advertised the rope in a pitch on Facebook Marketplace that read: "Buy your Bubba Rope today for only .99 each, they come with a lifetime warranty and work great.'' The post was removed by midday Thursday. A spokeswoman for the North Carolina governor was among the many critics of the ad. 579
DeSantis’ mishandling of #COVID has made him a global laughingstock & caused so much needless suffering & death in our state. Now, beyond just deadly incompetence, it appears he has chosen to abuse Florida’s law enforcement and judicial systems to persecute Rebekah Jones, (1/4) https://t.co/pcqKXo1JZD— Rep. Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden called reports that President Donald Trump knowingly downplayed the severity of COVID-19 "a life and death betrayal to the American people" during an address from Warren, Michigan on Wednesday."He knowingly and willingly lied about the threat it posed to our country for months," Biden said. "He had the information. He knew how dangerous it was. And while this deadly disease ripped through our nation, he failed to do his job on purpose."Biden went on to call Trump's decision to downplay the virus "beyond despicable," a "dereliction of duty" and "a disgrace."The Former Vice President placed blame for the pandemic-related economic recession squarely on Trump."This is a recession created by Donald Trump's negligence, and he is unfit for this job," Biden said.Biden's comments came hours after CNN published audio files recorded by journalist Bob Woodward from earlier this year. During a conversation with Woodward on Feb. 7, Trump called the coronavirus "deadly" and added that it would be worse than a "strenuous flu." In the weeks following that conversation, Trump continued to downplay the severity of the virus publicly. In a conversation on March 19, Trump told Woodward that he "always wanted to play it down," because he "didn't want to create a panic." 1317

DENVER – A man has been detained after he drove his car through a crowd of protesters calling for justice in the Breonna Taylor case outside the Colorado State Capitol late Wednesday night. Denver was one of several cities where demonstrators gathered following Wednesday's grand jury decision in the Taylor case. Video from AIRTRACKER7, as well as from reporters on the ground, showed a small crowd of protesters surrounding the parked vehicle and blocking the man's way, at times banging on the hood of the car, before the driver accelerated and drove his vehicle through demonstrators. 596
