HOHHOT, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- A United Nations conference ended Friday in the Chinese desert city of Ordos with more than 100 countries committed to setting national timelines to stop desertification by 2030.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of ASEAN, a regional group comprising Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, as well as the China-ASEAN year of tourism.

Over the Belt and Road Initiative, "Croatia has a special place in it because it is positioned at the intersection of the maritime Silk Road and continental Silk Road," Hu said.
