The Toronto Raptors will be starting the 2020-21 NBA season in Tampa, the team said in a statement Friday.Raptors owner Masai Ujiri released the following statement:“The Raptors worked diligently with public health officials at the local, provincial and federal level to secure a plan that would permit us to play our 2020-21 season on home soil and on our home court at Scotiabank Arena. These conversations were productive, and we found strong support for the protocols we put forward. Ultimately, the current public health situation facing Canadians, combined with the urgent need to determine where we will play means that we will begin our 2020-21 season in Tampa, Florida. We want to thank all levels of government and their public health officials for their dedication to this process, and for looking after the health of Canadians. We commit to continuing our work together, planning for a safe return to play in Toronto. And as an organization, we remain committed to doing all we can to promote and demonstrate public health measures to help combat the spread of COVID-19 in Canada. So we’ll be away from our home and our fans for now. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder. I’m not sure that’s possible for us – we love Toronto and Canada, and we know we have the best fans in the NBA. For now, I’ll ask you to cheer for us from afar, and we’ll look forward to the day we are all together again.”Games will be played at AMALIE Arena, home of the Tampa Bay Lightning.Even Lightning Captain Steven Stamkos was excited about the news:“ WE THE SOUTH” ?? https://t.co/hVHlJKItrh— Steven Stamkos (@RealStamkos91) November 20, 2020 This past MLB season, the Toronto Blue Jays had to make their home in Buffalo due to Canada's COVID-19 restrictions. The NBA season tips off on Dec. 22. MILWAUKEE -- One of the Milwaukee County Zoo's harbor seals has died days after she gave birth to a seal pup, Zoo officials announced Tuesday.Sydney, who arrived at the Zoo in 2005 after being rescued as an orphaned pup herself, gave birth to a male seal pup on June 3. Three days later, Sydney died unexpectedly. Officials say a preliminary necropsy shows Sydney died of a "systemic infection" - which begins in one area and then moves to the bloodstream, affecting the entire body. The pup, who has not yet been named, is being hand-raised by zookeepers and animal care staff. He was the fifth pup born to Sydney and her companion, Ringo."Keepers are assist-feeding the pup five times daily with a milk replacer formula made specifically for marine mammals which includes a high fat content and vitamins," a news release from the Zoo says. "Normally, harbor seals nurse 4-6 weeks before weaning. In the meantime, finely ground fish is gradually being added to the formula. As of June 23, in addition to the formula feedings, the pup has been introduced to live fish to pique his natural instincts.""Keepers comment [Sydney] was extremely smart, and through training sessions, taught them how to be patient, calm and reliable...Sydney will be missed by her keepers and visitors," the Zoo says. This article was written by WTMJ. 1346

Jaqi Wright and Nikki Howard will tell you their new business is anything but a piece of cake. “Trying to get ahead of everything has been a challenge,” says Howard. Last month, the sisters started selling their homemade “furlough cheesecakes” as a way to help pay bills during the longest government shutdown in history. Thanks to word of mouth, their business, The Furlough Cheesecake, took off and hasn't slowed down. They even got a boost in business when Ellen DeGeneres surprised the sisters by having them on her show. Ellen gave them ,000 to help with their business. It didn’t stop there. They got another surprise this month from one of the largest companies in the world. “We found ourselves at Walmart, being able to present our cheesecakes for a tasting,” Howard says. The meeting and taste test went well with Walmart. “Their plans are to get us in the stores before the end of the year,” Wright says. “And she told us, ‘This doesn't happen. There are people who have been waiting over year, standing where you're standing, making this presentation.’ And we came with our A game.”Walmart says the cakes will eventually be sold in stores and online. 1179
