WASHINGTON (AP) — Inmates at all 122 federal correctional facilities across the country are no longer being allowed visits for the next 30 days, in response to the new coronavirus. Officials tell The Associated Press that effective Friday, the Bureau of Prisons is suspending all visits. No federal inmates or Bureau of Prisons staff members had tested positive for COVID-19, as of Friday morning. The plan to temporarily suspend visitation, curtail staff travel and pause inmate transfers is the result of concerns for the 175,000 inmates in BOP custody. Rich Benoit runs a YouTube channel called Rich Rebuilds, and he quickly built a reputation for being the do-it-yourself guru of electric vehicles. One of Benoit’s first projects was working on a damaged Tesla model S, which would set someone back ,000. “And I said to myself, “Ya know what? I think I can try to fix that car,” Benoit says. When former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was arrested on Friday on third-degree murder charges, more details emerged on how George Floyd died while in police custody on Monday. According to a report prepared by prosecutors in Hennepin County, Minnesota, Chauvin knelt on Floyd’s neck for eight minutes, 46 seconds. For the final two minutes and 53 seconds, prosecutors said, Floyd was unresponsive. Police body cams showed that at 8:24:24, Floyd stopped moving. At 8:25:31, video showed that Floyd stopped talking and breathing. It was not until 8:27:24 when video showed that Chauvin removed his knee from Floyd’s neck, prosecutors said. The prosecution’s report said that “police are trained that this type of restraint with a subject in a prone position is inherently dangerous.”After Chauvin lifted his knee, Floyd was placed on a gurney and taken to the hospital, where he pronounced dead. The county medical examiner reported to prosecutors that several factors likely contributed to Floyd’s death. “The autopsy revealed no physical findings that support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxia or strangulation,” the report read. "Mr. Floyd had underlying health conditions including coronary artery disease and hypertensive heart disease. WASHINGTON (AP) — The Washington, D.C. street leading to the White House now features the phrase Black Lives Matter in enormous yellow letters visible from high in the sky. D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser tweeted aerial video of the mural shortly after it was completed Friday, saying “Breonna Taylor, on your birthday, let us stand with determination.
