(KGTV) -- No charges were filed Thursday against a Chula Vista police officer arrested last week after a reported domestic violence incident, though the case remains under investigation, according to a spokesperson for the District Attorney.Leopoldo Armando Chousal, 27, was arrested on March 14 on the 6400 block of Potomac Street in a reported off-duty domestic violence incident.He was booked on one count of making criminal threats to harm his girlfriend.RELATED: Chula Vista officer arrested for off-duty domestic violence incident"CVPD takes these allegations seriously and was disappointed to learn of this incident. Jason Anderson created the Facebook page called 'Eastlake - Support COVID-19'. He got the idea after seeing another post on social media. He initially created the group to make sure children staying home from school wouldn't go hungry. The group is now being used for community members to find things like toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and food. Nothing on the group is for sale, Anderson says neighbors are just helping each other by paying it forward. The group has grown to over 800 members in just three days. The leaders of the group are hosting regular conference calls to plan and stay organized. The group is now brainstorming how to best help elderly members in the community since they might not be as social media savvy. (KGTV) -- The Sweetwater Union High School District announced Thursday that it plans to reopen August 3.According to the district, only distance or virtual learning will be available on August 3. No on campus instruction will be available.On August 28, the district will transition to "Phase 1" where 10 percent of students will be allowed on campus at any given time.As public health orders permit, the campus will move into phase two, where 20 percent of students will be allowed on campus. Phase three will see 50 percent or more of students on campus plus "some activities." CHULA VISTA (CNS) - At least one man was injured in a traffic collision today on southbound Interstate 805 near East Palomar Street in Chula Vista, the California Highway Patrol said.At 11:10 a.m., a pickup truck flipped onto its side in a crash with a larger truck hauling boxes, according to a CHP incident log. The man was out of his pickup truck bleeding from a head wound.The larger truck continued southbound on I-805 after the crash, the CHP reported. (KGTV) -- South Bay junior and senior high school families learned Monday they will need to stand fast at home a little longer after district officials said they will not reopen campuses for physical learning this year.The Sweetwater Union High School District announced that students will continue distance learning through December 2020 citing "significantly higher" COVID-19 cases within the district's communities.The announcement comes as local health officials wait to hear if the state will place San Diego County back into the purple tier -- the most restrictive level on California's coronavirus reopening road map. Such a move would likely shutter indoor operations for restaurants, movie theaters, houses of worship and gyms, limit retail businesses to just 25% capacity.
