And Canada's Plasco Energy Group Inc. and Beijing Environmental Sanitation Engineering Group Co (BESG) also signed a MOU to establish facilities in Beijing to convert waste to clean energy.O'Brien noted that Plasco's signing MOU with BESG exceeded his expectation, and he was impressed by the quick research speed and by their ability to sign the document during this visit. He said it was "a present and a surprise," and "a good achievement for our trip.""It underscores the importance of having government and industry working together, to create a better bond between the city of Beijing and the city of Ottawa," he added.Talking about the MOU in tourism, O'Brien said: "Rideau Canal in Ottawa, which is built in 1826-1832, is really worthwell. ( Tourists coming here) will feel the warmth of 900,000 warm Canadian hearts, warm Ottawa hearts. We are going to promote the Great Wall as well, which I had the honor and distinguish pleasure to go and visit this time."He also said that China had set Canada, where has a lot of places worth to see besides Ottawa, such as the mountains, the west coast, and the sea villages on the east coast, as the destination for tourists. Huawei has 70 to 80 people in Ottawa now, and expect to increase to 250 in three years," he said. CHONGQING, May 19 (Xinhua) -- Four miners are missing after a coal mine collapsed in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality Wednesday, local authorities said.Five miners were working underground when the coal bed at the Xiaowan Coal Mine collapsed at around 1 p.m. Wednesday in Zhonggang Town, Wuxi County.One miner was lifted to the ground unhurt.Rescuers are searching for the missing miners.

PYONGYANG, May 9 (Xinhua) -- The Rodong Sinmun, a leading newspaper of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), hailed the recent successful visit to China by top leader Kim Jong Il in an editorial published Sunday.The editorial said that the people of the DPRK are "very glad and excited" about the visit. It is a "meaningful opportunity" to strengthen the friendship between the two parties and the leaders of the two countries.The article also indicated that the DPRK will make efforts to further strengthen the traditional DPRK-China friendship.Both countries shared the view that peace, stability and prosperity of the Korean Peninsula are in the common interests of the two countries and other Northeastern Asian nations, the editorial said.The two sides will make joint efforts to achieve the objective of denuclearizing the Peninsula on the basis of the Sept. 19 Joint Statement, it added.The editorial also said that the people of the DPRK sincerely wish the Chinese people still greater achievements in their socialist construction and the cause for national reunification.Kim Jong Il made an unofficial visit to China from May 3 to 7. He has visited China for five times since 2000.
