WASHINGTON, D.C. – Trump adviser Corey Lewandowski has tested positive for the coronavirus.Lewandowski recently traveled to Pennsylvania to assist the president’s efforts to contest the state’s election results. He said Thursday he believes he was infected in Philadelphia and he's not experiencing any symptoms.Lewandowski appeared with Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani at an event last Saturday outside a landscaping company and lobbed unfounded accusations of voter fraud as the race was called for Trump’s challenger, now-President-elect Joe Biden.Lewandowski was also at the election night party at the White House last week linked to several virus cases.Numerous White House and campaign officials have tested positive in this latest wave of infections, including Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows.Republican and Democratic election officials nationwide have said publicly the election went well. International observers confirm there were no serious irregularities. 974
WASHINGTON (AP) — With a bit of rejiggering, President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump played host Sunday to hundreds of super-heroes, unicorns, skeletons and even a miniature version of themselves as part of a Halloween celebration at the White House. In years past, the president and first lady personally handed candy to the costume-clad kids, but this year, the treats were provided as participants walked along a path on the South Lawn. The kids still got to briefly meet the president and first lady though, who waved and offered words of encouragement from a safe distance about how much they liked the costumes.Trump was particularly pleased with a young boy with a distinctly Trump head of hair and a partner who did her best Mrs. Trump impersonation. The president motioned for them to turn and pose for the cameras, and they happily agreed.Another tot, a true princess it appeared, was so smitten with the cameras that she kept waving at them as she walked along, never noticing the VIPs behind her. 1026

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Department of Homeland Security is moving 1 million from FEMA, the Coast Guard and other agencies to fund immigration detention beds and support its policy forcing asylum seekers to wait in Mexico.Homeland Security officials say they will transfer 5 million for temporary hearing spaces along the U.S.-Mexico border to help hear asylum cases faster. They will also transfer 6 million to fund Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention bed space, though Congress specifically did not authorize additional ICE funding.Democratic House lawmakers are objecting. The chair of the Homeland Security Appropriations subcommittee says the change would support "inhumane" programs and take away necessary funding for other agencies. The news comes as hurricane season is ramping up and Tropical Storm Dorian is barreling toward South Florida. 873
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump is insisting the Navy “will NOT be taking away Warfighter and Navy Seal Eddie Gallagher’s Trident Pin” that designates him a SEAL.Attorneys for Chief Petty Officer Edward Gallagher had accused the Navy of trying to remove the designation in retaliation for Trump’s decision last week to restore Gallagher’s rank.Gallagher was acquitted of a murder charge in the stabbing death of an Islamic State militant captive, but a military jury convicted him of posing with the corpse while in Iraq in 2017. He was demoted to chief.Trump tweeted, “This case was handled very badly from the beginning” and urged those involved to “Get back to business!”Gallagher filed a complaint with the inspector general accusing a rear admiral of insubordination for defying Trump’s actions. 817
We tend to go to thrift stores to find good deals and to save money. But have you ever thought about making money at a thrift store instead? The idea is to buy items that you can resell at a higher price online.Ecommerce expert Glen Zubia buys and sells items for a living on sites like eBay and makes up to ,000 a month. So what are the things to look for? “First probably go electronics; electronics people buy DVD/VHS combos, old video games,” said Zubia. When first starting out, he suggests you stick with familiar items. For example, Zubia suggests items related to pop culture, Disney items, and certain exclusive products tied to sports teams. "And then of course, vintage always comes back," said Zubia. If you go to a thrift store and see an item you would never buy, just know there is likely someone out there who would. The key is to do some quick research online to find out what people are wanting and how much they are willing to spend.Zubia points out that just because something is listed on eBay at a certain price, it doesn't necessarily mean it will actually sell for that price. "But the completed listings will tell us, 'okay this is selling for ,' here it is in my hand for . Now I have an expectation to make a certain amount of money,” said Zubia. There are other sites besides eBay where you can sell your items like Tradsey, Poshmart and Amazon. Zubia recommends first time eBay sellers build their clientele before pricing items high.“You’re at zero. A lot of buyers aren’t going to trust you right away. So, it’s always good to start off with stuff you already have, cheaper items, building up your feedback and then you’ll get more customers coming in,” said Zubia. Also, don’t just limit yourself to thrift stores to find these money-making treasures. Try shopping at garage sales, yard sales and swap meets. 1933
