Victoria's Secret CEO Jan Singer has resigned amid a sales slump and competition from young companies challenging the brand's grip on the lingerie industry.The Wall Street Journal first reported Singer's departure last week. Victoria's Secret parent company L Brands (LB) made it official during its quarterly earnings release.John Mehas, now the president of Tory Burch, will take over as CEO of Victoria's Secret Lingerie early next year, the company said.Sales at Victoria's Secret stores that have been open for at least a year dropped 6% last quarter. Flashy fashion shows, push-up bras and celebrity models aren't drawing people in like they used to. Instead, women are clamoring for more products with a better fit.Online stores like ThirdLove, Lively and True & Co. are using tech and harnessing data to offer custom sizes and new products.Other parts of the L Brands business have been struggling. Two curious emperor penguins in Antarctica stumbled across a camera and the video is going viral. The curious birds flipped it over to face skyward, which recorded them staring into the camera and apparently trying to figure out what the device was doing on their turf. The Australian Antarctic division posted the 38-second clip on its Twitter page March 7. UPDATE (July 27, 1 p.m.): The owner of missing 40-year-old tortoise Lou said her beloved pet was found safe and is back home.Jessica Comfort told ABC 10News that someone brought Lou to her front yard on Monday, but that person left before she could talk to them.Comfort said her tortoise did not have any visible injuries and is doing well.Comfort is working to schedule Lou a visit to the vet as soon as possible. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A woman in Santee desperately looking for her nearly 40-year-old tortoise says she's been able to rescue other reptiles during the search.The Texas and California tortoise mix, named Lou, weighs about 20 pounds and is slightly bigger than the size of a dinner plate. Jessica Comfort says he's been missing for two weeks."The night before he went missing, we had a water main break," says Comfort. "With the water shooting up over the roof, we had to get an emergency plumber and back some foliage, and we left the gate open, unfortunately."Comfort says she's been searching for the animal ever since. Signs have been posted around her Santee neighborhood and surrounding areas."The search has been wild and crazy," Comfort said.Lou hasn't shown up yet, but Comfort says she was able to rescue three other animals during her search. The animals included a small turtle, a Reed Foot tortoise that needed medical attention, and a Sulcata Tortoise named Rocky. Rocky will be reunited with his family very soon.Comfort has been working with the San Diego Turtle and Tortoise Society to ensure all of the found animals are safe. Phil Scott on Wednesday signed sweeping gun control measures -- including limits on the size of magazines -- that the Legislature passed last month after contentious debate.The measures:-- Raise the minimum age for gun buyers to 21;-- Ban bump stocks, which allow semiautomatic weapons to fire more rapidly;-- Require all gun transactions to be facilitated by a licensed dealer who would perform background checks, except for law enforcement or military members acting within their duties, or for gun transfers between immediate family members;-- Limit rifle magazines to 10 rounds.State residents will be permitted to keep larger-capacity magazines they already own.As he signed the measures, Scott, a Republican, called himself a Second Amendment supporter who owns guns and has hunted his whole life.
