DUBLIN, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Li Changchun said here Sunday that Beijing and Dublin have huge potential to deepen bilateral ties and cooperation.Since the two sides established diplomatic relations 31 years ago,bilateral relations have developed steadily, said Li, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, upon his arrival for a two-day official goodwill visit.Especially in recent years, China and Ireland have increased high-level exchanges, carried out fruitful and mutually-beneficial cooperation in various fields including politics, trade, education, culture and science and technology, and maintained close coordination on international affairs, he noted.Li Changchun (L, Front), a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, is welcomed by Irish officials upon his arrival in Dublin, capital of Ireland, on Sept. 26, 2010. BEIJING, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- China National Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd. (CNCEC), one of the country's leading engineering, procurement and construction firms, said its net profit for the first six months of 2010 grew by 58.61 percent.Net profits totaled 653 million yuan (96 million U.S. dollars) while earnings per share stood at 0.13 yuan, up 20.37 percent from one year earlier, the company said in a statement filed with the Shanghai Stock Exchange late Sunday.CNCEC said its revenues during the first half of this year were valued at 14.57 billion yuan, among which project construction contracts accounted for 13.03 billion yuan, up 15.97 percent from one year earlier.The Beijing-based company has also made progress in overseas markets where revenues increased by 63.53 percent to nearly three billion yuan, while domestic revenues grew by 8.54 percent to 11.5 billion yuan, according to the statement.CNCEC attributed its strong performance to collective material purchasing, improved outsourcing and investment management, continuously reduced project costs and an effective human resources incentive mechanism.

STOCKHOLM, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- Iceland's President Olafur Ragnar Grimsson Wednesday said that Iceland's government and people sincerely appreciate China's precious support to Iceland in dealing with financial crisis and treat China as a trustworthy friend and important cooperation partner, according to a report reaching here from Reykjavik."Iceland is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in various fields including geothermal energy, earthquake monitoring, culture and tourism.
