WASHINGTON, D.C. (KGTV) -- President Trump is answering questions about a new round of stimulus checks that could be extended to Americans as well as coronavirus concerns and why he believes mail-in ballots could lead to voter fraud in his latest interview.Speaking to Scripps' Washington Correspondent, Joe St. George, the President said he expects a new stimulus package to be announced soon. Trump also said he is working to rebuild the economy, which has taken a major hit during COVID-19."We had this going better than anybody's ever seen before. We had the best job numbers, the best economics, the best economy we've ever had, and then we had the virus come in from China, and now we're rebuilding it again," Trump said."We will be doing another stimulus package. It'll be very good, it'll be very generous," he added.Asked when the new stimulus package could be introduced, Trump said he expects it to be announced "over the next couple of weeks."Trump was also asked to cite specific evidence as to why he says mail-in ballots are fraudulent."There are thousands of cases all over, thousands. I don't like the system," Trump said. "An example, a friend of mine gets a ballot, his son unfortunately passed away seven years ago, he gets a ballot for his son to vote. It's one case, but there are thousands and thousands of cases," he added."The other thing is with main-in ballots people can forge them, foreign countries can print them," Trump continued. The President also mentioned California mail-in ballots throughout the interview."In California they send tens of millions of slips out, of ballots out. They put them in mail boxes, people take them, they take them from the mail man and they print them, they fraudulently print them. It's a very bad system, it's going to lead to a tremendous fraud and we're trying to stop it," Trump said.Following his Tulsa rally, Trump said he isn't worried at all ahead of a Monday night event inside an Arizona church meant to attract students as cases in the state continue to spike."No I don't think so. I don't know how they have it set up, but I'm going to Arizona, it's a great place, great state. I'm not worried about it, no not at all," Trump said.Watch clips from the interview below: 2252

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Wisc. - A semi truck transporting 39,000 pounds of sausage rolled over a median in the Town of Wayne, Wisconsin, the sheriff's office says. The accident occurred around 11 p.m. on Sunday, May 13. The driver of the truck swerved to avoid hitting a deer and accidently rolled onto its side in the median of I41 south of STH 28.Crews worked for multiple hours taking sausage off the truck's trailer so the truck could be returned to its upright position. The freeway was closed around 5:15 a.m. on Monday morning so that crews could remove the truck. The Interstate was reopened an hour after the closure. The driver was treated at the hospital for minor injuries and was released. 727

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court says Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been released from a Baltimore hospital where she had been treated for a possible infection. The 86-year-old Ginsburg has returned to her home in Washington, D.C., and is “doing well,” court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said Sunday.Ginsburg spent two nights at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. She was taken there Friday after experiencing chills and fever. The court says she received intravenous antibiotics and fluids and that her symptoms abated.Ginsburg has had four occurrences of cancer, including two in the past year. She had lung cancer surgery in December and received radiation treatment for a tumor on her pancreas in August. She had a rare absence from a public session of the court in mid-November because of what the court said was a stomach bug. She was back on the bench the next time the justices met.Her latest hospital stay began Friday, after the justices met in private to discuss pending cases. She was initially evaluated at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington before being transferred to Johns Hopkins for further evaluation and treatment of any possible infection.Ginsburg has been on the court since 1993, appointed by President Bill Clinton. Only Justice Clarence Thomas has served longer among the current members of the court. 1337

WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) - President Donald Trump is contradicting the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on the potential availability of a coronavirus vaccine to the general public and on mask-wearing.Trump said Wednesday that a vaccine will be available as early as October and in mass distribution soon afterward — much sooner than was projected in congressional testimony earlier in the day by Dr. Robert Redfield.Trump says Redfield “made a mistake” when he told lawmakers that any vaccine available in November or December would be in “very limited supply,” and reserved for first responders and people most vulnerable to COVID-19. Redfield estimated the shot wouldn’t be broadly available until the spring or summer of 2021."I think he misunderstood," Trump said. "I don't have to go through this. I think he misunderstood the questions. But I'm telling you, here's the bottom line, distribution is going to be very rapid. He may not know that, maybe he's not aware of that. And maybe he's not dealing with the military, etc like I do. Distribution is going to be very rapid, and the vaccine is going to be very powerful. It's going to sell solve a tremendous problem."After Trump’s comments, CDC officials claimed Redfield thought he was answering a question about when the vaccination of all Americans will be completed.Trump also disagreed with Redfield about the effectiveness of protective masks, which Redfield had said could be even more helpful in combating the coronavirus than a vaccine."The mask perhaps helps," Trump said. "A lot of people didn't like the concept of masks initially, Dr. Fauci didn't like them. I'm not knocking anybody because I understand both sides of the argument. But when I called up Dr. Redfield today, I said what's with the mask? He said I think I answered that question incorrectly. Maybe he misunderstood, maybe he under this understood both of them. The answer to the one, it's going to be a much faster distribution that he said. Maybe he is not aware of the distribution process, it's not really his thing as let's say it is my thing. The distribution is going to be much faster. I hope that the vaccine will be a lot more beneficial than the masks because people have used the masks."Trump also added that masks are not more affected than a vaccine.A vaccine is much more effective than a mask if we get the vaccine, but know the mask is not as important as the vaccine," Trump said. 2465

We lose people in the hands of police. It’s not a slogan but a policy demand. And centering the demand for equitable investments and budgets for communities across the country gets us progress and safety. https://t.co/Vu6inw4ms7— Ilhan Omar (@IlhanMN) December 2, 2020 276
