PICO RIVERA, Calif. -- Firefighters responded after a large apartment complex burst into flames outside of Los Angeles Thursday afternoon.One person was taken to the hospital after the fire. The extent of their injuries is unknown. The fire erupted in Pico Rivera. Firefighters said portions of the roof have collapsed as a result of the fire.The entire apartment complex has been ordered to evacuate. Parents of students who had been evacuated from Santa Fe High School in Texas following a school shooting that left 10 dead were shocked to find a man carrying a pistol approaching the school to comfort students.The man, who was wearing a Trump cap and carrying an American flag, said he was walking in front of the school in order to "make America great again.""These folks are having a rough morning and could use some support, and I think these are the kinds of support that they need right now," the man told told reporters."Offering support," the man said, when asked what his "plan of action" was. PLAYA DEL CARMEN, Mexico -- An explosion that tore through a ferry in Playa del Carmen injured 25 people Wednesday, according to KABC. None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening in the explosion that took place as passengers were unloading.Local officials said 20 Mexicans, three Canadians and two Americans were all reportedly in good condition.The municipal government said victims sustained minor cuts and were treated at a local hospital. The explosion left a hole in the vessel’s starboard side beside a passenger seating area.The cause of the explosion is unknown at this time. 611

Paul Manafort's former son-in-law has reached a plea agreement with the US attorney's office in Los Angeles, which has been investigating Jeffrey Yohai's real estate deals for over a year, according to two sources familiar with the matter.Under the plea agreement Yohai will be required to cooperate with other investigators but one source told CNN it is unlikely he has much to offer to special counsel Robert Mueller.It's not clear what Yohai will be pleading to as part of the deal. He has not been publicly charged by prosecutors, though he has been under investigation.His guilty plea is all about his real estate Ponzi scheme -- he defrauded actor Dustin Hoffman, among others. Yohai will also have to cooperate with an investigation by the New York Attorney General's Office, which has an open investigation into Manafort. That probe is in the shadows of Mueller's investigation.Reuters first reported the plea deal had been reached.Yohai met with Department of Justice investigators in New York in the summer of 2017, according to two other sources familiar with the matter.Yohai provided information and documents to federal investigators in New York at the time, according to one of the sources.Yohai's lawyer did not immediately return a request for comment.The sources say the Justice Department was seeking cooperation related to the federal investigation into Manafort for possible money laundering or tax violations in his business dealings with pro-Russia political parties in Ukraine.The information was turned over to Mueller as part of his probe.
