SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A hit-and-run driver struck a motorcyclist early Wednesday morning in the Fairmont Village neighborhood, leaving the rider with a broken leg, police said.The crash was reported around 12:10 a.m. at the intersection of Lantana Drive and Euclid Avenue, San Diego police Officer John Buttle said.A 33-year-old man was riding a Yamaha motorcycle northbound on Euclid Avenue when a vehicle pulled out from Lantana Drive and struck the right side of the motorcycle, Buttle said.The rider was taken to a hospital for treatment of a fractured tibia and fibula, the officer said.The suspect vehicle, described as a white Honda sedan, was last seen heading southbound on Euclid Avenue, Buttle said.A description of the hit-and-run driver was not immediately available. 784

SAN DIEGO (AP and CNS) — A white Christmas was in store for parts of California with wet weather elsewhere in the state that could mean dangerous driving conditions and possible power outages."A storm system is coming and after about 10 p.m. tonight, we'll begin having scattered showers that will continue through the day on Christmas," NWS forecaster Samantha Connolly said of the San Diego impact. "The storm system will bring cooler temperatures through tomorrow, and snow above 5,000 feet."Connolly said temperatures will drop into the high 50s to 60s in most of San Diego on Christmas day. Colleen Grace is the first to give an in-depth view of what led up to an entire SEAL platoon being withdrawn from Iraq following a Fourth of July barbecue and the alleged sexual assault of a sailor.
