MEXICO CITY (AP) — President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador launched an ambitious plan Saturday to stimulate economic activity on the Mexican side of the U.S.-Mexico border, reinforcing his country's commitment to manufacturing and trade despite recent U.S. threats to close the border entirely.Mexico will slash income and corporate taxes to 20 percent from 30 percent for 43 municipalities in six states just south of the U.S., while halving to 8 percent the value-added tax in the region. (WAVE) — A Louisville man, arrested just outside of Chicago, is accused of killing a woman and putting her body parts in a suitcase to visit his family several hours away, according to multiple media outlets.The Louisville Metro Police Department says they were able to track the homicide back to a home in their area, after getting information from investigators in Illinois.Police in Markham, Illinois, a Chicago suburb close to the Indiana border, said the suspect's family picked up the man from a Greyhound bus stop in Chicago recently. "He brought with him luggage two, three bags," Markham Police Chief Terry White told WBBM. Chief White says the family claims they did not know what was in his bags, but became suspicious when the man never unpacked and allegedly kept guarding the bags. Police say the family reported a foul odor was leaking from a suitcase. Police were called when a family member opened the suitcase while the man was out and found the body parts, according to WBBM. "A human body part was discovered. They immediately back away and called police," Chief White said.Officials say the suspect has been arrested. The man's identity or any charges have not been released at this time.LMPD, Markham police and the FBI are investigating the case. The family is cooperating with investigators. 1339

Franchise operator Laura Bucar says in her 40 years of doing business, McDonald's has never invested this much money into it's existing chains. "When we decide to move on anything, what that creates for the community, as far as jobs and resources, is incredible,” says Bucar. In order to create an incredible experience, McDonald's is investing millions of dollars into nearly every state to update their restaurants.“We just finished ours in July, and I can’t tell you how many electricians and plumbers locally that were sourced to come in, and even digital and technical people and so it really adds to the economy,” says Bucar.Each fast food restaurant is able to customize their artwork inside. (AP) — Authorities were investigating a report of a body found within the burn zone of a huge wildfire in Southern California, but the coroner's office was unable to confirm Wednesday whether it was burned.Two deaths were previously linked to the weeklong blaze in Ventura and Los Angeles counties that was 52 percent contained after scorching more than 152 square miles (394 square kilometers), engulfing homes, scenic canyon getaways and celebrity estates.The body under investigation was found in a burned residence in the Agoura Hills area.
