SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police in a standoff with a woman for nearly an hour before they say she tried to run over officers.It started with someone reporting a woman parked at a gas station and blaring music on Balboa Avenue in Clairemont.When officers arrived they asked her to turn down the music but she refused and at one point held up a piece of paper to her window that said no.After about 45 minutes, officers placed spike strips under her tires. That's when police say she tried to ram her way out, striking several police cars and running over the spike strips.She lost control, drove across lanes and jumped the median and spun out on Mt. Alifan Drive.Officers surrounded her car, smashed out the side window and dragged her out. During the scuffle to take her into custody, at least one officer suffered some minor cuts and bruises.Police say the woman will likely face assault with a deadly weapon charges. 922

Home values rose 10.1 percent to 1,100.According to the latest census numbers, in the year-span ending July 2017, adding up all the people moving into and out of California translates into a net loss of 138,000 people. In San Diego County, there is also an apparent exodus with a net loss of nearly 16,000 people in the year ending in July 2017. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - President Donald Trump issued an order prohibiting Broadcom’s attempt to take over San Diego-based Qualcomm, CNBC and Bloomberg reported Monday.Broadcom had made several efforts to buy the chip maker in recent months. All offers were rejected by Qualcomm, which said the bids undervalued the company.The most recent offer, made in February, was over 1 billion. The possible takeover raised security concerns and led to an investigation by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S.The takeover attempts coincided with changes in corporate leadership.On Friday, Qualcomm announced executive Paul Jacobs -- the son of Qualcomm founder Irwin Jacobs - "will no longer serve in an executive management capacity" but "will continue to serve on the Qualcomm Board."If Broadcom had been allowed to buy Qualcomm, it would have made the Singapore-based firm the world’s third-largest chip company behind Intel and Samsung.Any buyout would also have had a significant impact on San Diego's economy. 1042

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Police are investigating a shooting in Ocean Beach that left a man dead early Tuesday morning.According to San Diego police, gunfire was reported at around 1 a.m. on the beach by Lifeguard Tower No. 2 near 1900 Abbott Street. Witnesses reported hearing as many as four shots fired, ABC 10News learned.Responding officers arrived at the scene to find an unidentified man with at least one gunshot wound to his upper body.Despite life-saving measures, the man was declared dead at the scene. The victim was described by police as a man in his 50s or 60s, and witnesses believe he was homeless and frequents the Ocean Beach area. Officers are searching the area for the gunman, but a detailed description of the suspected shooter was not immediately available. 784
