DENVER — Dozens of states filed an anti-trust lawsuit against Google on Thursday, alleging that the search giant has an illegal monopoly over the online search market that hurts consumers and advertisers.This lawsuit was announced just one day after Texas and nine other states filed their lawsuit against Google alleging anticompetitive practices in the advertising technology industry.The Thursday lawsuit was announced by Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser and was filed in federal court in Washington, D.C. by states represented by bipartisan attorneys general.The lawsuit was joined by the attorneys general of 35 states as well as the District of Columbia, Guam and Puerto Rico.The latest suit mirrors an anti-trust case brought by the Justice Department and 11 states earlier this fall that claimed Google uses anticompetitive agreements to get dominant position for Google Search on smartphones, according to CNN.The latest case goes further, also alleging Google moved to block or move down search results from certain other engines.The case is the third antitrust salvo to slam Google during the past two months as the Department of Justice and attorneys general from across the U.S. weigh in with their different variations on how they believe the company is abusing its immense power. 1307

Democrats have won key races in Virginia and New Jersey, CNN projects, their first major wins during the tenure of President Donald Trump and a boost heading into the 2018 midterms, when control of US House and Senate will be up for grabs.The blue wave along the East Coast saw Ralph Northam winning the governor's race in Virginia and Phil Murphy victorious in New Jersey. Democrats are also on pace to capture control of the Virginia General Assembly, and several liberals, including New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio won their mayoral elections.Virginia's gubernatorial contest was the first major test of Democrats' ability to rebound after Trump's victory. The fundamentals of the state were in their favor: Under Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe, unemployment is lower than the national average, and voters have generally told pollsters that they see the commonwealth as on the right track while the nation is on the wrong track.Northam's victory over GOP lobbyist and former George W. Bush aide Ed Gillespie -- clinched much earlier than nervous Democrats had expected -- left party leaders jubilant about their chances in the 2018 midterm elections, particularly in heavily suburban, Republican-held House districts that look much like the northern Virginia suburbs.Gillespie distanced himself from Trump personally, but embraced much of the President's agenda, including a focus on illegal immigration and sanctuary cities. Deputies say a woman attacked a mother and daughter on a Greyhound bus that had departed from Las Vegas. According to investigators, three strangers helped to save the child's life.The bus left Las Vegas shortly after 7 a.m. Monday and was headed to San Francisco. Teresa Ann Andrade Madrigal attacked the mother and child, just 45 minutes after leaving the station in Bakersfield, authorities report."The lady had the baby in her hand," said one passenger, "...and next thing I know, I heard she has a knife."Investigators say Madrigal appeared to be delusional. They say Madrigal grabbed the child around the neck and held her at knife point. That's when the child's mother started to fight the attacker.Soon, the bus driver and two other passengers jumped into action. The mother was stabbed in the abdomen. The men were able to help get the child  away from the suspect.In total, five people were hurt. We're told Madrigal, who was speaking to herself, was initially asked to get off the bus. The driver felt that it was safe to let the woman back on the bus after speaking with her outside.Right now, the investigation into this incident is ongoing. Investigators say Madrigal also stabbed herself. The child's mother, who has not been identified, had surgery on Monday.  She is expected to make a full recovery. DENVER — A mom-to-be is counting her blessings after receiving a generous tip from “Catfish” host Nev Schulman, who has the same birthday as her due date.Zulia Reyes works at the Smashburger at the Denver International Airport. She’s been a server for nearly a decade and has worked at the burger restaurant for more than a year.She said she’s met celebrities while working, but her connection with Schulman took it to another level when he asked her when she was due.“I told him Sept. 26," she said. "He’s like, 'That’s my birthday.'”Reyes is 32 weeks pregnant. The two took a picture and after Schulman left, Reyes discovered a big surprise on the table.“The tip was 6 — for my due date, which is Sept. 26, which is his birthday,” Reyes said. “It means the world to my baby and my family. We never expected this to happen to us.”Schulman left a note at the end of the receipt reading, "Congrats on your baby girl! Fingers crossed for 9/26, Nev.”Through tears, Reyes admitted she had lost hope on Monday.“I had one of those days where nothing went right for me at work,” she said.Her husband is out of work as they prepare for the arrival of baby Zulia. In April, Reyes was laid off for nearly a month from Smashburger. She felt relief when she was called back for work but said she was “petrified” of the risk of COVID-19.Reyes said the good deed came during a time of need and called it a "blessing." She said the extra money will help with rent and baby essentials.Reyes said she reached out to thank Schulman on Instagram.The virtual edition of "Catfish" launched on MTV Wednesday.
