OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) –A man visiting the beach with his family drowned in Oceanside over Labor Day weekend, police say. Oceanside Police say the 31-year-old man from Victorville was on a trip with his family when he went swimming and never returned to shore. According to police, he was later found by some people walking on the beach. After he was located, lifeguards tried to revive him using CPR, but the man died, authorities say. The drowning happened the day after a 73-year-old woman died in Mission Bay. Lifeguards say she appeared not to be swimming in a straight line when they swam out and brought her to shore. Lifeguards performed CPR on the 73-year-old, but she later died. "She had some sort of heart issue. The medics were working on her for quite some time,” Lt. Andy Lerum said. 941

(KGTV) –Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a man suspected in a string of incidents in Oceanside, including indecent exposure, peeping, and sexual assault.“He comes up and knocks on people’s doors, usually between the hours of 8 in the evening and 11, and exposes himself,” said Tom Bussey, public information officer for the Oceanside Police Department.“He has quite a few tattoos on the upper left arm and across his chest. Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon has pulled out of a job as a correspondent for NBC at the Winter Games in South Korea.News broke earlier Sunday that Rippon, one of the first openly gay U.S. athletes to compete at the Olympics, was being hired to work on TV, digital and social media for NBC for the remainder of the Games in Pyeongchang.NBC tweeted out the news Sunday morning, welcoming the 28-year-old bronze medalist to its team.But Rippon said hours later that although he was "so flattered" by NBC's offer, he decided against the move because it would mean leaving his U.S. teammates and the Olympic Village."It's so important to me, you know, I worked so hard to be on this Olympic team, and my teammates and my friends were there for me during my events, and that meant so much to me, that I really feel like I need to be there for them during their events," he said on NBCSN.NBC's article online about Rippon becoming one of its correspondents now redirects readers to his Olympic profile page.Rippon later suggested he only learned about the network's plans to hire him from social media."I actually found everything out about the offer via twitter HAHA," he tweeted. In 2016, Oregon officials say he violated his parole, not updated them on his change of address.
