SHARM EL-SHEIKH, Egypt, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- The 4th Ministerial Conference of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum (FOCAC) wrapped up in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh on Monday, with the adoption of the Declaration of Sharm el-Sheikh and Sharm el-Sheikh Action Plan, defining new programs of cooperation between the two sides in the next three years.     The Declaration of Sharm el-Sheikh, the political document of the conference, sets forth the guiding principles of China-Africa cooperation, reflects the views and consensus of both sides on major international and regional issues and China-Africa relations, and expresses the hope to strengthen China-Africa cooperation under the new circumstances. BEIJING, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao Friday highly praised the achievement of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) over the past decade, ahead of the 10th anniversary of the region's return to the motherland.     Hu, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said Macao was "embracing a bright future" thanks to the mainland's support and Macao compatriots' hard work. Hu made the remarks while attending an exhibition in Beijing marking Macao's achievements in the past 10 years.     "Macao has undergone an extraordinary development over the past decade," he said, adding under the support of the central government and the Chinese mainland, the SAR government fully implemented the policies of "one country, two systems", "Macao people governing Macao" with a high degree of autonomy and the Basic Law. TAIPEI, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- Taiwan leader Ma Ying-jeou vowed Wednesday that he will push forward the reform of the Kuomintang (KMT) "at full speed" four days after he took the position of the party's chairman.     He said his aim of running for the chairman was to guarantee closer cooperation between the party and the administrative authorities to make the administrative work more effective.     Ma made the remarks Wednesday at the first conference for the Central Standing Committee of the KMT since he took the position.     Ma stressed that it is now a key period to strengthen the relations between the party and the administrative authorities as the island's economy is showing signs of revival.     During the conference, the party approved a decision to remove two officials from their newly-elected positions as the members of the KMT Central Standing Committee for being involved in vote-buying.
