SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Since they got the call for help a week ago, San Diego Border Dreamers has been working around the clock to set up an emergency medical clinic in Tijuana.Board Director Milad Torabi says he's getting word migrants have conditions including fevers, rashes, blisters and bad sunburns. On a Go Fund Me, they're raising money for basic medical, first aid, and sanitary supplies.The advocacy group is partnering with two UC San Diego organizations which specialize in this area: Flying Samaritans and the International Health Collective.They're accepting monetary donations as well as medical supplies.San Diego Border Dreamers is also seeking doctors, nurses, medical students, acupuncturists, physical therapists and medical translators willing to volunteer their time. 799

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen visited San Diego Monday, making her first local stop since joining President Trump's cabinet in December.Nielsen arrived in San Diego after a long flight from South Korea, where she helped represent the United States at the Paralympics. The trip also coincides with President Trump's arrival in San Diego Tuesday.Nielsen spent most of her day with the Coast Guard. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego's Halloween scene will host a spirited lineup of hauntingly hopping parties.Pub crawls, concerts, and cruises are all in the mix as the region's 21-and-older crowd head out in their own costumes and dance the holiday away.Whether you're jumping into the massive WCKD Village party or limping through a zombie crawl, there's a party for you.San Diego Halloween Pub Crawl (Oct. 25): Join in on the San Diego Halloween Pub Crawl and grab a wristband that grants you access to more than 10 different night clubs in Pacific Beach, exclusive drink specials (including free welcome shots), and access to the official Halloween Pub Crawl after party.Nightmare Before Halloween (Oct. 25): North Park's Lafayette Hotel hosts a celebration inspired by Tim Burton films, featuring live music from several local bands throughout the night and a Halloween costume contest with several prizes up for grabs.San Diego Zombie Crawl (Oct. 25 - 31): One ticket to the San Diego Zombie Crawl grants guests access to five days of fun at more than 20 parties throughout the Gaslamp District. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Several San Diego chefs will try and set the world record for most pieces of sushi made in 48 hours this month.Sushi Festival San Diego will see Chef Jeff Roberto and several others try to produce 100,000 pieces of sushi in 48 hours, from Oct. 26 to Oct. 28.Roberto, who owns Sushi On A Roll, says the feat has been in the works for a while now.RELATED: San Diego is among top 'foodie cities' in America, report says"This has been a long time coming. Sushi On A Roll will set the world record of sushi made in 48 hours," Robert wrote in an email. "I'm excited to have my friends in the industry to be a part of this and to make this happen."Tickets for the event range from 0 - 5, including intimate omakase experiences from featured chefs and VIP tickets including all-you-can-eat dining — because there will definitely be plenty to go around. A variety of local taiko groups and other performers will also provide live entertainment during the event.Profits from the event will benefit the Friends of Rollo nonprofit, which take youth fishing and educates them about the ocean ecosystem. Extra food will be donated to those in need, according to event organizers.Chefs will gather at The Dana on Mission Bay, where they'll kick off the 48-hour marathon event. 1294
