SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A Tesla owner got a road-rage surprise after a quick shopping trip at a Best Buy store in Carmel Mountain Ranch.Cory Janney bought his 2018 Model 3 in December. On Saturday, just past 1 p.m., he and his wife drove through the entrance of The Courtyard shopping center."As we were coming in, a car drove straight through a stop sign. I honked my horn for a millisecond," said Janney.The gray BMW drove off while Janney and his wife parked and went into Best Buy. After about six minutes, they came back to the car."We were both pretty shocked," said Janney.Along the front door on the passenger side was a deep scratch. A look at their dashcam video revealed the culprit. Soon after they parked and went inside, a gray BMW pulls into the parking spot next to their Tesla. A man with a green shirt gets out and looks around. In his hand is something sharp, like a key."He had stiff arm and proceeded to scratch the passenger side of the door, before getting back into the vehicle," said Janney.The "scratch" deep went all the way through, past the clear coat and the paint. Janney hasn't got an estimate yet, but one expert told 10news it could run upwards of several thousand dollars."It's disturbing something so small could lead to so much rage. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A vandal targeted at least a dozen vehicles at a popular shopping center in University City on Friday, flattening tires across one of the parking lots."It's very upsetting," said Camille Bsaibes.Bsaibes showed 10news a Toyota RAV4 with a flat tire. The vehicle belongs to his son. Bsaibes, who owns Amardeen restaurant, located in the Renaissance Towne Centre, experienced his own flat tire Friday while driving his van. Bsaibes didn't notice it until he was one the road."When I was driving, I was shaking ... wondering why it was shaking," said Bsaibes.Bsaibes pulled over and found three of his tires flat. His total bill to replace tires? Nearly 0. That day, three of his employees also felt their tires go flat as they were driving home from work. They were all parked in the same back lot. It was a similar story for four employees of the L-Transformation beauty boutique. In all, at least 12 vehicles from 4 of the businesses were hit in one day. It happened in broad daylight at the busy shopping center, sometime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m."The tire shop said somebody used a long, sharp object and punctured the side of the wheel," said Bsaibes.The flat tires weren't immediately obvious and didn't become a problem until the vehicle were on the road. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A woman was taken to the hospital after the car she was riding in -- which was believed to have been stolen -- struck a building and two parked vehicles in the El Cerrito area on Friday morning.San Diego police said the collision happened at around 5:15 a.m. in the 5800 block of El Cajon Boulevard.Witnesses told ABC 10News they saw a silver Honda Accord traveling at a high rate of speed, possibly reaching 100 MPH, when it lost control and collided with a building and parked cars, littering the area with debris and car parts.Responding emergency crews pulled a female from the wreckage and took her to the hospital. Police said the woman suffered a broken hip and deep laceration on the back of her leg.One witness said a man, believed to be the driver, was able to get out of the wrecked car and ran away from the scene. He was described as Black, in his 20s, wearing a black sweater and black pants.According to police, as officers and emergency crews responded to the crash, a man called 911 to report his car that was left running outside of a business on El Cajon Boulevard was stolen.Police told ABC 10News they believe the car in the crash was the same vehicle stolen a few blocks away. 1226

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A woman died and her son was hospitalized after a shooting at a Linda Vista home early Monday morning.According to San Diego police, officers were called to the 2200 block of Crandall Drive at around 3:15 a.m. in response to a report of gunfire in a home.Officers arrived to find a male and female down with gunshot wounds to their upper bodies.The victims were taken to the hospital, but the woman -- identified by police as a 46-year-old Vietnamese female -- died from her injuries.The injured man -- described by police as a 28-year-old Vietnamese male -- is on life support, but police noted that he is not expected to survive his injuries.Police said they were not actively searching for a suspect, as they believe one of the victims was the shooter. 783

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A San Diego veteran took to his camera to escape mental anguish, amplified by the pandemic, and hopes his art sparks happiness in others."I'm looking for beauty, I'm looking for relaxation, things that just bring out positivity," said Brian McClean, who found his love of photography in Alaska while serving in the U.S. Coast Guard."The scenery there is just beautiful, I mean you have wildlife, you have mountains," he said, adding that the foliage was incredible too.Everything around him was an escape. McClean grew up in the heart of Philadelphia and saw the USCG as a ticket to travel. "I was told about it by a State Trooper... I did some research on my own, I was gone within a couple weeks. I thought it looked like a great deal," said McClean.He said it gave him an opportunity to grow.He served for 12 years. During his service, he laid a wreath at the Miramar National Cemetery and was a flag bearer at a 2006 wreath-laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with President George W. Bush. As he transitioned back to civilian life, he took his photography hobby and made it his dream job, a job that was just the right prescription. "[Photography] helps me to focus and have one thing to look at at a time and block out the rest of the world when I'm doing that. Just doing that more often and more often you just kind of realize I'm feeling better, hey the anxiety I thought I've had has gone away all of the sudden," says McClean.McClean developed anxiety from the years in fight or flight in the military. He lost his mom to lung cancer, while serving. He was only 20-years-old.The battle with stress and anxiety became more difficult with the pandemic. McClean said he gets most of his work noticed by networking in person.He launched his photography business in 2017 and had a hard time getting off the ground."To stand out in any kind of capacity is a blessing to me no matter how I've done it," he said.With persistence, he broke through, featured on the 2019-2020 OB Local and set to be on the cover again next year.When people see his work, he hopes they see a big heart."I want them to see someone who does care who does have empathy who does want people to feel good, feel good about themselves, feel good about life, to just feel like there's a purpose," he said.A purpose to do good.
