Two weeks after being grounded by the FAA, a Boeing 737 Max airplane en route from Orlando, Florida, to Victorville, California, had to return to Orlando International Airport to make an emergency landing Tuesday afternoon, the Associated Press reported. The jet, which was being shuttled to California for storage, only had two pilots on board. The jet belongs to Southwest Airlines, according to the AP.The Boeing 737 Max was grounded by US officials two weeks ago following the second deadly crash involving the series of planes. The AP reported that the emergency was not related to a glitch in the anti-stall software, which investigators believe caused the two previous planes to crash. On March 13, the FAA released a statement that said, "The grounding (of Boeing 737 Max planes) will remain in effect pending further investigation, including examination of information from the aircraft’s flight data recorders and cockpit voice recorders. An FAA team is in Ethiopia assisting the NTSB as parties to the investigation of the Flight 302 accident. The agency will continue to investigate." 1108

WASHINGTON — The National Transportation Safety Board says the driver of a Tesla SUV who died in a Silicon Valley crash two years ago was playing a video game on his smartphone at the time. Chairman Robert Sumwalt said at the start of a hearing Tuesday that partially automated driving systems like Tesla's Autopilot cannot drive themselves. Yet he says drivers continue to use them without paying attention. He says the board made recommendations to six automakers to stop the problem and only Tesla has failed to respond. The board will determine a cause of the crash at the hearing and make recommendations to prevent it from happening again.According to 670

White House efforts to limit access to President Donald Trump's conversations with foreign leaders extended to phone calls with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Russian leader Vladimir Putin, according to people familiar with the matter. Those calls -- both with leaders who maintain controversial relationships with Trump -- were among the presidential conversations that aides took remarkable steps to keep from becoming public. In the case of Trump's call with Prince Mohammed, officials who ordinarily would have been given access to a rough transcript of the conversation never saw one, according to one of the sources. Instead, a transcript was never circulated at all, which the source said was highly unusual, particularly after a high-profile conversation. The call - which the person said contained no especially sensitive national security secrets -- came as the White House was confronting the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, which US intelligence assessments said came at the hand of the Saudi government. With Putin, access to the transcript of at least one of Trump's conversations was also tightly restricted, according to a former Trump administration official. It's not clear if aides took the additional step of placing the Saudi Arabia and Russia phone calls in the same 1314

US rapper A$AP Rocky has been found guilty of assault and handed a conditional sentence after a street brawl in Stockholm. The performer and two members of his entourage were convicted by a Swedish court on Wednesday, following a confrontation in the Swedish capital on June 30.Stockholm District Court said in its ruling that the performer's claim of self-defense had been rejected."The defendants have claimed that they acted in self-defense. Based on statements from two witnesses, the court finds that the defendants were not subject to a current or imminent criminal attack. Therefore, they were not in a situation where they were entitled to use violence in self-defense. Nor could they have perceived themselves to be in such a situation."Swedish public prosecutor Daniel Suneson had argued during the trial that the artist and the two other men -- David Rispers and Bladimir Corniel -- assaulted the victim by kicking and beating him with a whole or part of a glass bottle while he lay on the ground.A$AP Rocky, who pleaded not guilty to the charges against him, had argued that the trio were simply defending themselves. The rapper will avoid more jail time, however. The musician was handed a conditional sentence after the court determined the assault was not "of a serious nature" and did not justify more jail time.Known for his song "Praise the Lord," the 30-year-old rapper -- whose real name is Rakim Mayers -- was released by Swedish authorities at the conclusion of the trial on August 2 and left the country shortly afterwards. He was not required to appear in court for Wednesday's ruling. The incident angered fans and fellow artists, and strained diplomatic relations with the United States after President Donald Trump repeatedly demanded the rapper's release, even raising the issue with Swedish Prime Minister Stefan L?fven. In response, L?fven's spokesperson Mikael Lindstr?m said in a statement to CNN at the time that "the Government is not allowed, and will not attempt, to influence the legal proceedings, which are now ongoing."Swedish officials repeatedly stressed that the country's judiciary is "completely independent" and "does not take into consideration outside pressure from politicians or others."The rapper addressed the case during a performance at a music festival in California on Sunday, 2340
