This comes after crews from Australia and New Zealand helped with wildfires in Northern California in 2018.Peel and his team are flying into Melbourne where they’ll be met and briefed on fires that have been burning for months, leaving dozens dead, thousands of homes destroyed, millions of acres of burned and more than a billion animals dead. “I’m just one of many that’s willing to run towards the help and offer it any way we can,” Peel said.Over the past few months, more than a hundred federal firefighters from American agencies have gone to Australia to help with the firefighting efforts. And with the dry season starting up, the worsening weather conditions are creating even more challenges.“We’re looking at triple digits daily. They’re pushing 110-115 degrees. The Williams family has been forced to wait as floodwaters rise near the home they were given through a veterans program. Joshua Shorty Williams served in the U.S. Army. On May 22, Joshua and his wife, Jenny, and their three kids — Kayla, 15; Bryson, 14; and Aiden, 12 — evacuated their Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, home due to the flooding in their neighborhood. They went to stay at a relative's place in downtown Sapulpa and were slammed by the tornado on Sunday night. “Yes, we've had an eventful week or so, unfortunately,” Joshua Williams said. “We moved into our house in the Indian Springs Estate on January 7, 2019. When they issued the voluntary evacuation for our neighborhood on Wednesday, we left our home. We came to stay at my brother-in-law's building in downtown Sapulpa. We were hit by the tornado last night. Thankfully, everyone is safe and well.” The Williams family is not out of the woods yet. They spotted their house on a drone video posted online with the most recent footage of their neighborhood. They could see that the water is rising and slowly creeping up their driveway. The family’s plan is to stay at their brother-in-law's place in Sapulpa for now. As time expired in a major college basketball rivalry game between Kansas and Kansas State, a bench-clearing brawl ensued between the two squads, forcing fans to take cover. In video provided by ESPN, the incident started when a Kansas basketball player went up to block the shot of a Kansas State player as time expired. While there was some contact between players on the play, the contact was appeared relatively minor. With the Kansas State player on the court, players from both teams came rushing under the hoop. Players and other team personnel then exchanged punches and shoves. The incident died out after 45 seconds as coaches, referees and police officers worked to separate the two squads.
