A voluntary recall has been expanded to include three types of organic nut butter that was sold in more than a dozen states.According to the Food and Drug Administration, Inspired Organics LLC issued a recall for all jars of peanut butter, tahini butter and almond butter due to a possible listeria contamination.The release expanded on an earlier recall earlier this month for jars of sunflower butter and specific lots of almond butter.Those who purchased the jars are asked to either dispose of them or return them. A new federal lawsuit says Mississippi's Parchman prison is a violent place where inmates live in “abhorrent conditions” and their medical needs are ignored. The lawsuit was filed Tuesday on behalf of more than 150 prisoners. It is similar to one filed in January, and the two lawsuits could eventually be merged. Attorneys in both lawsuits are being paid by entertainment mogul Jay-Z, rapper Yo Gotti and Team Roc, the philanthropic arm of Jay-Z's Roc Nation. A team of St. Lucie County firefighters went above and beyond to help an elderly man in need.According to the St. Lucie County Fire District, Lt. John King, Justin Harnage, and Jeremy Rouse responded to a home on in Fort Pierce, Florida, on Tuesday after an 86-year-old man fell and was unable to get up.Officials said the elderly man has trouble walking and needed help getting into his wheelchair, which was located outside on the patio.Noticing that the home didn't have a proper wheelchair ramp, the three firefighters went back to their fire station, built a wheelchair ramp out of plywood, then took it back to the elderly man's home and installed it at his front door."Acts like these, which are above and beyond the call of duty, reinforce the Fire District motto: 'Our Family Serving Yours.'" said Division Chief Aaron Shaw. 845

A proposed bill introduced by Missouri Rep. Andrew McDaniel would require all Missouri state residents to own an AR-15 rifle. House Bill 1108, or the McDaniel Militia Act, proposes that every resident of the state of Missouri "shall own at least one AR-15 rifle."A resident, the language in the proposed bill states, is someone who is "18 years of age or older and under 35 years of age" who is not prohibited by law from possessing a fire arm. "Any person who qualifies as a resident on August 28, 2019, and who does not own an AR-15 shall have one year to purchase an AR-15. Any resident qualifies as a resident after August 28, 2019, and does not own an AR-15 shall purchase an AR-15 no later than one year after qualifying as a resident," language in the bill states.
