Pennsylvania GOP Rep. Charlie Dent announced Tuesday he is resigning in the "coming weeks," a decision that came after he first said he'd be retiring at the end of his term in Congress.The moderate Republican tweeted the decision came after discussions with his family and "careful reflection.""I am especially proud of the work I have done to give voice to the sensible center in our country that is often overlooked or ignored," he said in the statement. "It is my intention to aggressively advocate for responsible governance and pragmatic solutions in the coming years."In a statement Tuesday, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf, a Democrat, thanked Dent for his service."Charlie Dent is a voice of reason and civility that breaks through the chaos and partisanship of Washington and he will be missed," he said.The governor's office also announced that there will be a special election to fill Dent's seat, but no set date yet.The Pennsylvania Supreme Court's February order creating new congressional districts in the commonwealth beginning next term included language that, if there were to be a special congressional election before the new term next January, it would be held under the 2011 congressional district map.Already, 43 House Republicans have announced this cycle they are retiring, running for another office or resigning outright, including Dent and House Speaker Paul Ryan. The woman said the deer had been in the water for more than an hour as she tried to get them out with no luck.Officers were able to corral the deer to the water’s edge and pull them out. The rescue was captured on body camera one of the officers was wearing. “The deer were tired, but happy, as you can hear them let out a “cheer” of appreciation after being rescued!” a Facebook post from the City of Parma Police Department reads.Both deer ran off back into the wild on their own. 713

Pipe bomb suspect Cesar Sayoc made his first appearance in a New York federal court Tuesday and was told he will be held without bond.The defense issued no objection to Judge Robert Lehrburger's decision. Sayoc's preliminary hearing was set for Monday.In a letter, prosecutors had said they would ask that Sayoc be held without bond, based on the flight risk and the danger he allegedly posed to the community.The 56-year-old faces five federal charges: interstate transportation of an explosive, illegal mailing of explosives, threats against former presidents and other persons, threatening interstate communications and assaulting current and former federal officers.Sayoc's attorney, Daniel Aaronson, has said that his client intends to later plead not guilty to the crimes."Nobody has been able in a court of law to say that those were bombs that he sent," the attorney said. OXFORD, Mich. - Upland Hills School in Oxford, Michigan, doesn't look like your traditional classroom setting; that's because it's not. But it is where around 90 students will be learning come fall, including Alicia Stewart's two sons.The independent tuition-based school has always used a very "nature forward" approach to learning, and this year, due to COVID-19, will rely on that model even more.“I did venture out to Target just recently and I saw all the back-to-school supplies and I don’t really have to get any of that," Stewart said. So to be outside for 2-3 hours a day is really typical for our students," said Director of School Rob Himburg.Because of COVID, outdoor learning will be central this fall. However, the school does also offers online learning.“This is going to be my new classroom for the coming year," said teacher Robert Crowe, walking around one of the school's former gardens.Social distancing should be easy outdoors and class sizes are always pretty small, given that Upland Hills only has around 70 families.Crowe said he wants to make sure students can get their work done outside too.“To be able to focus outdoors is not easy. So the solution I hit on was for every child to have their own individual tent," he said. Crowe said being able to learn in the outdoors gives students a unique sense of agency, something that traditional classrooms don't always provide.Students may also learn in larger, four-season tents, which can be heated in the winter.The school also has an indoor space, in the event teachers and students would need to go inside.Lessons will usually circle back to nature in some way, so that students are learning basic skills like mathematics in a hands-on way, like building a greenhouse Himburg said.Tuition for Upland Hills is a little more than ,000 annually, making this out of reach for some families.For Stewart, whose kids started at Upland Hills last year, this approach to learning has been really special and offered her sons an education she doesn't think they could get elsewhere.Classes at Upland Hills begin Aug. 17.Statewide, many districts are still in the process of deciding what approach is best for teachers and students: online learning, face-to-face, or a combination of the two. PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla — CVS has pulled all powdered Enfamil baby formula off its shelves as its pharmacy department does an internal review. The move comes after a Florida mother shared her story about what she found inside a tub of formula with Scripps station WFTS in Tampa.Alison Denning says her package of Enfamil baby formula was tampered with before she opened the package."When I opened it up, this seal that wraps around was opened,” she said. RELATED: Mom says baby formula bought at nearby CVS was replaced with flourDenning says the package looked fine on the outside and even had the protective seal intact on the lid, which is why she didn’t think twice about buying it. But when she got it home, she knew what she found inside was not baby formula. She sent the product back to the manufacturer for lab testing. She says Enfamil has been extremely friendly and helpful.Enfamil said Denning's is an “isolated incident” and haven’t had any other reports of flour for this particular batch of formula. But this isn't the first time baby formula has tampered with — last year, a woman was arrested in Tucson, Arizona after she was found guilty of swapping baby formula with flour at two Walmart stores in the area. One baby was sickened after ingesting the tampered product but is doing OK now, according to the Associated Press.“There is no recall related to this or other Enfamil branded products,” Lynn Kenney said. She's the Head of Corporate Communications, North America for the makers of Enfamil, Reckitt Benckiser. Even still, CVS decided to pull the product."Enfamil powder is temporarily unavailable in our stores due to an internal review being conducted by CVS Pharmacy," CVS said in a statement. "Our store employees can assist customers with finding an alternative product in the meantime.
