SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — During California's stay at home order, city leaders say they will not be enforcing most parking citations.Parking enforcement in the City of San Diego was placed on a holiday or Sunday schedule, unless otherwise stated on the meter.The city will still be enforcing red, white, blue and time enforcement areas due to public safety concerns.RELATED: San Diego beach parking lots closed to discourage crowds during COVID-19 order"Just make sure you read the time limit signs or the signs on the meter. If the sign says 'Except Sundays and Holidays' (which I believe most do say that) then you do not need to pay. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Homeowners in Logan Heights say people are living in RVs parked on their street, leaving behind trash and at times, even dumping human waste. The piles of trash on Logan Avenue include bags, clothes, and paint or plastic food containers. Some of the RV trailers even have cobwebs. A city ordinance says cars are not allowed to park continuously on any public roadway for more than 72 hours. Homeowners say the vehicles are sometimes ticketed and moved for a few days before they come back. In June, the city opened a safe parking lot in Misison Valley for people living out of their RVs. Neighbors say the issue has been reported to the city's Get It Done app multiple times and they've even reached out to their council member, Vivian Moreno.10News reached out to Moreno's office, and a spokesperson said they've reported the issue to the San Diego Police Department. The spokesperson added that they would continue to report any complaints and violations to the appropriate authorities. 1017

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Hillcrest will soon be home to San Diego’s first rainbow crosswalk to represent the community’s role in LGBTQ+ history. The rainbow crosswalk, similar to those in cities like San Francisco and Seattle, will be located at Normal Street and University Avenue. “The installation of a rainbow crosswalk has been a long-standing goal of the San Diego LGBTQ+ community. Hillcrest deserves a visual representation of the LGBTQ+ movement and its goals of visibility, acceptance and inclusion,” said Councilmember Chris Ward’s office. A celebratory event called “Catwalk on the Crosswalk” will take place Jan. 11 at 1 p.m. The San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus and Women’s Chorus will perform and cupcakes will be provided by Babycakes. Following the event, a reception will be held at Hillcrest Brewing Company. Councilmember Ward, Senate President pro Tempore Toni G.
