SEATTLE — Police say one person has been wounded in the second shooting in Seattle's protest zone in less than 48 hours. The shooting happened late Sunday night in the area near Seattle's downtown known as CHOP, for “Capitol Hill Occupied Protest.” Police tweeted that one person was at a hospital with a gunshot wound. SAN MARCOS (CNS) -- A young man was killed in a solo-vehicle rollover crash down an embankment near a San Marcos school, authorities said Tuesday.The crash was reported around 6:40 p.m. Monday on Schoolhouse Way, east of Elfin Forest Road near San Elijo Middle School, San Diego County Sheriff's Sgt. Charles Morreale said.Investigators determined a 19-year-old man was driving a Chevrolet pickup southbound on Schoolhouse Way at high speed when he lost control of the truck, struck a curb and the vehicle overturned down an embankment, Morreale said.The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, the sergeant said. SAN MIGUEL COUNTY, Colo. -- A husband and wife from Florida were killed in a small plane crash Monday in Colorado, just days after their wedding.According to the San Miguel County Sheriff's Office in Colorado, the victims in the crash were identified as Costas John Sivyllis, 30, and his wife of four days, Lindsey Vogelaar, 33, both of Port Orange, Florida.Deputies said the couple was leaving Colorado to return to Florida in a privately owned Beechcraft Bonanza when it crashed in the Ingram Basin east of Telluride, where they were married Oct. 1.Sivyllis, a United Airlines pilot and flight instructor, and Vogelaar, who also worked in the airline industry, were the only people on board. 701

Sears Holdings will close another 63 Kmart and Sears stores following the 2017 holiday shopping season.On Thursday, the company made the announcement to employees at the affected stores, which span 26 states.The closings affect 45 Kmart stores and 18 Sears stores. SEATTLE (AP) — Since September, six sea lions have died from gunshot wounds in central Puget Sound and Kitsap County, Washington.The Seattle Times reports that another seven are suspected to have died from "acute trauma" caused by humans, including a decomposed sea lion with its head sliced off found washed ashore Tuesday in a West Seattle cove.That's according to Seal Sitters Marine Mammal Stranding Network, a group that responds to reports of stranded or dead sea lions.Michael Milstein, a NOAA Fisheries spokesman, has confirmed the deaths of five California sea lions in West Seattle, including four that died of gunshot wounds.NOAA Fisheries law-enforcement agents are investigating these crimes, which are prohibited under the Marine Mammal Protection Act.Between 1998 and 2017, National Geographic reported up to 700 California sea lions were found with gunshot and stab wounds in waters off California, Oregon and Washington. 955
