Icelandic budget carrier Wow Air has ceased operations and canceled its flights, leaving passengers stranded around the world. The airline announced the closure in a statement posted to its website on Thursday. It advised passengers to book new flights on other airlines, and said some may be eligible for compensation.Saurabh Aggarwal, who was due to fly from Toronto to Reykjavik on Wow Air, described a chaotic scene at Toronto airport.Aggarwal said customers were given conflicting information about the flight's status before it was canceled at 10:55 p.m. She said passengers were not provided with accommodation and no refunds were issued."This really scared everyone, at that point we were finally given back our bags and no money as of now has been issued back to me," Aggarwal told CNN.It wasn't until the following morning that she received an email from Wow Air informing passengers that the airline had ceased operations and all flights were canceled.Other affected passengers also criticized Wow Air on social media over the lack of communication."Just found out about this news," 1105
Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell says he would not resign if pressured to do so by President Donald Trump."No," Powell answered simply, when asked Friday morning during a panel at the annual American Economics Association conference alongside former Fed chairs Janet Yellen and Ben Bernanke.Trump has repeatedly criticized Powell for continuing to tighten monetary policy, saying on Twitter that it's the "only problem" with the economy. It's unclear whether presidents legally can fire Fed chairs, who they appoint for four-year terms.Powell said Trump had not directly expressed dissatisfaction to him.Powell added that he has no meeting scheduled with Trump. White House aides had floated the idea of inviting the former investment banker to sit with the President in person to allay Trump's concerns."Meetings between presidents and fed chairs do happen, but nothing's been scheduled," Powell told moderator Neil Irwin, an economics reporter for the New York Times. 986

Houston police believe the remains of a child found in southwest Arkansas on Friday may belong to missing 4-year-old Maleah Davis."Do we believe that it's possibly her? Yes. But can we confirm it right now? No," Houston Police Executive Assistant Chief Troy Finner told reporters."If it's not Maleah, it's somebody's child," he said. The focus of the search moved to Arkansas after the suspect in her disappearance allegedly confessed to dumping her body there, nearly a month after Maleah was reported missing in Texas.Earlier on Friday, suspect Derion Vence told an activist who visited him in jail that he had dumped Maleah's body in Arkansas."One thing he wanted to make clear to me was (that) what happened to Maleah was an accident, he says it was an accident. And he confessed to me where he dumped the body," Houston community activist Quanell X told CNN affiliate 884
