CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- A Polk County, Florida man is pleading for a thief to return a sentimental wedding gift that was stolen out of a family member's truck in Port Charlotte.Boomer Bass left for a fishing trip on Little Gasparilla Island last week, and thought it was best to leave his Springfield 1911 Range Officer Gun with a family member, rather than bring it with him.On April 19th, Bass's mother reported that the gun was stolen out of his truck in the Water's Edge neighborhood in Englewood. The gun holds sentimental value to Bass. "I had a gun very similar to this one when I was younger," he said. "I sold it to help a friend of mine out, and I really regretted selling that gun." With this in mind, his wife, Stefanie, made the decision to buy him that same gun on the morning of their wedding. They married in October of last year. "She went and bought that gun for me and gave it to me that night at our wedding reception, actually," Bass said. "I think the gun signified, really, that she understood the generosity I showed when I was younger, and she wanted to show me she would be the kind of wife that would do those things for me."Stealing a gun is a felony in the state of Florida. However, Bass says if the thief wants to return his gun, he would accept it with no questions asked. "Hopefully, you feel like you made a mistake. I will not prosecute, I will not pursue any legal action. All I want is this gun back," he said. Bass said he is willing to pay the retail price for a brand new gun if his is returned safely. We did our taxes this year and got our returns already,” said Brandow. “So, it's very strange.”In California, Alexis Lopez is also in limbo.“For most people, it was like 'this person got it, this person got it,' said Lopez. "I was like, ‘well maybe there's some delay with mine.’ No big deal.”And in Ohio, Karen Melroy is also stuck in in stimulus purgatory.“I received my refund by a direct deposit,” said Melroy. “So, there's no reason I can think of why I shouldn't have received one.”All of them say they get the same message when checking on the IRS website.“I normally add a few more expletives to mine when I see it, but it's something to the effect of payment status not available,” said Melroy.It turns out they’re not alone. CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. (KGTV) - A massive training exercise coordinated between three Marine Corps. Air Stations in the Southwest took flight Monday.The goal is to ensure Marines and Sailors are ready if they need to move hundreds of troops and supplies fast. The exercise is comprised of about 1,300 troops, from MCAS Miramar, Camp Pendleton and Yuma. It took three months of planning."It really stretches all the muscles for all of the units to support something big like this," Lt. Col. Nathan Storm said.The training is almost twice as big as prior similar trainings."It gives I Marine Expeditionary Force the opportunity to get together and practice large scale operations like this for operations wherever the Marine Corps may send us in order to defend the United States," Lt. Col. Storm said.This particular mission is to take over an airbase and secure it as a supply route, "not that we’re necessarily planning for anything like that but we always have to be ready and be lethal for that eventuality," he said.Dozens of aircraft were meticulously coordinated to come in and take off in waves. Rows of MV-22 Osprey sat on the flight deck loading up Monday afternoon. Earlier two of the Marines' biggest assault support helicopters, the CH 53E Super Stallions, loaded up with dozens of troops and took off.The flights Monday were the crux of the past two weeks of training for the Marines and Sailors.
