Jenny Bennett found her toddler floating in her family's pool, face-down, fully clothed. The 18-month-old had crawled through their home's pet door. An ER nurse, Bennett started CPR and rescue breathing on little Jackson while her husband called 911.Jackson was declared brain-dead after four days on life support."People automatically assume it happens to bad or neglectful parents," Bennett said. She spent two years going over and over the mistakes she made and finally decided to go public as an advocate for swim safety in her community of Tomball, Texas.Bennett thought she had taken the right precautions. She had two doors separating the house from the pool: a storm door over the back door and tight cover on the pet door. "We understood a doggy door was a risk for him to make it to the pool. We made it very clear that the dog door remains locked."But that day was unusual. She had to pick her husband up from work after his truck broke down and grabbed her three kids. With no time to let the dogs out, she opened the dog door and left the house. "I was too impatient to wait for them."When the family returned, she forgot it was open."There was a lapse in supervision. We thought he was safe upstairs with his sisters."Drowning is highly preventableThe Bennetts' story is not unusual. Nearly 1,000 children 1331

JUPITER, Florida —  It's now a sprawling sex trafficking investigation involving many jurisdictions and ensnaring wealthy, powerful suspects, but it began with a health inspector observing curious details suggesting women might be living at a Jupiter, Florida, day spa.Since at least July, after a state Health Department employee alerted police to signs of human trafficking, authorities had suspected Orchids of Asia Day Spa was providing more than massages and facials. Their suspicions were buttressed by a preliminary investigation that uncovered a seemingly all-male clientele and internet postings describing the spa as a "rub and tug," according to a police affidavit.Police requested the Florida Department of Health conduct a "routine inspection," and the department sent one of its inspectors there November 14. She reported back that the spa housed two rooms with beds, sheets and pillows, the affidavit said. There were also dressers containing medicine and clothing, as well as a fridge with food and condiments, it said. The findings, police and the health department determined, were "consistent with individuals living inside," the affidavit said.Taking a closer lookThis led a Jupiter detective to ramp up the investigation. Investigators pulled bags from a Dumpster and found a ripped-up ledger, credit card receipts and napkins wet with semen, the affidavit said.Police staked out the business, watching man after man enter the spa and leave after 30 minutes or an hour, the affidavit said. They also conducted traffic stops on customers leaving the business, who confirmed they had not patronized the day spa for its advertised services, it said. After obtaining a search warrant, investigators caught several johns -- including, allegedly, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, 1818

In Louisiana, car owners are required to update their license plate tags every two years. But between work, family and social obligations, sometimes things slip through the cracks, right? Life happens.According to one Louisiana police department, that chore slipped through the cracks for one driver for more than 20 years. The Slidell Police Department said on Facebook that it pulled someone over in February with a sticker tag from September 1997. According to the Department, the driver was using an older tag in the hopes that police would mistake it for a new one."At least give us a good challenge and don't use a license plate that is over 20-years-old and expired back in 1997!" the police department said.Back in September 1997, Men In Black was hitting theaters, Mariah Carey's "Honey" was topping the charts and gas was hovering at about .20 a gallon. 876
