SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Police have identified the woman shot and killed, allegedly by her boyfriend, at a Point Loma strip mall earlier this month.San Diego Police said 20-year-old Octavia Williams of Phoenix, Ariz., was fatally shot in the parking lot at 4013 W. Point Loma Blvd. just before midnight on Oct. 9.Paramedics transported Williams to the hospital where she died.MAP: Track crime happening in San Diego CountyPolice identified Williams' killer as 41-year-old Joe Bennette Conway. Conway is believed to be Williams' boyfriend, according to City News Service, and the shooting took place after an argument.Conway was described as 5’7” tall and 150 pounds. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Once election results start to come in, some of the races could be so close to call that they could lead to legal battles in court. Eugene Volokh, a constitutional law professor at UCLA, explained that it is likely some races could be so close that we won't know the results for a few days, maybe even weeks. When it comes to the presidential race, Volokh said that if the results are a landslide, the likelihood of legal challenges are close to none. If it's a tight race, Volokh said we could see litigation in states where it is just too close to call. Recounts are also possible, but the professor said that it wouldn't be a national recount; instead, it would only focus on the states that have tight races. Across the country, there have already been some legal battles. In Houston, a federal judge refused to invalidate nearly 127,000 drive-thru mail-in ballots following a lawsuit filed by a group of Republicans. In Nevada, a judge rejected another GOP lawsuit aiming to stop early voting over signature-matching software and observers when votes are being counted. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- One person was shot in San Diego's Shelltown neighborhood Sunday afternoon, San Diego Police confirm.According to San Diego Police, the shooting happened just after noon at the La Michoacana grocery store located at 1702 Vesta Street. The suspect, a man in his 20s, pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the cash register.The owner, a 40-year-old man, opened the register and gave the man money, police said. The suspect went to a second cash register and demanded money. The employee opened the second register and gave the suspect money.As the suspect was turning to leave, the owner pulled out a handgun. The suspect turned to the owner and the owner shot the suspect twice, hitting him in the abdomen and in the wrist, police say.The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital, but police said his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. 879

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police in a standoff with a woman for nearly an hour before they say she tried to run over officers.It started with someone reporting a woman parked at a gas station and blaring music on Balboa Avenue in Clairemont.When officers arrived they asked her to turn down the music but she refused and at one point held up a piece of paper to her window that said no.After about 45 minutes, officers placed spike strips under her tires. That's when police say she tried to ram her way out, striking several police cars and running over the spike strips.She lost control, drove across lanes and jumped the median and spun out on Mt. Alifan Drive.Officers surrounded her car, smashed out the side window and dragged her out. During the scuffle to take her into custody, at least one officer suffered some minor cuts and bruises.Police say the woman will likely face assault with a deadly weapon charges. 922

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One person was killed after a vehicle drove off the State Route 54 connector to northbound Interstate 5 in the South Bay.The crash was reported just after 3 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. It wasn't immediately clear what prompted the vehicle to drive off the freeway connector.At least one person was killed in the crash.
