Amazon said that beginning Tuesday, customers at its two Amazon Go stores in Seattle can use a device that will scan their palms before entering the store that will sync to their credit card with their hand signature.The company announced the launch in a blog post."We believe Amazon One has broad applicability beyond our retail stores, so we also plan to offer the service to third parties like retailers, stadiums, and office buildings so that more people can benefit from this ease and convenience in more places," Dilip Kumar, Vice President Physical Retail & Technology at Amazon, said in the blog post.The way the contactless device Amazon One works is that customers will insert their credit card into the device, hover their hand over the scanner, and follow the prompts to associate the card with their palm signature built for them by the machine.The company said customers could use both palms or one to enroll. Once a consumer enrolls, they'll need to place their palm over the Amazon One device at the entrance.The company plans to add more of the devices in the coming months to other Amazon stores.Amazon says you don't need an Amazon account to use the Amazon One device.The company said the device "protected by multiple security controls and palm images are never stored on the Amazon One device," according to the FAQ on its site."The images are encrypted and sent to a highly secure area we custom-built in the cloud where we create your palm signature," Kumar said. 1499

Even though she wanted to work with Boseman, she said she was "hesitant to go back to work" because "her daughter was going back to school and it was an inconvenient time."As a result, Miller told the studio producing "21 Bridges" that she would only star in the film if she was compensated "the right way," even though she was asking for a figure that the studio would not pay her.However, Boseman — who was a producer on the film — said he would donate a portion of his salary to help Miller get the compensation she needed.“It was about the most astounding thing that I've experienced,” Miller told Empire. “That kind of thing just doesn't happen. ALPINE, Calif. (KGTV) -- As firefighters work towards 100% containment in the Valley Fire, business owners are cleaning up the damage left behind by the flames. Alpine Dog Ranch is a vacation ranch for dogs to say while their owners are away. When the Valley Fire started, the ranch's owner, Thomas MacKinnon, was taking care of nine dogs, including his own. He quickly rushed to get them all into a van and tried to get out, but MacKinnon says they were trapped by flames. He and several neighbors took refuge in an open field until the flames passed. Firefighters and a 747 Supertanker saved all of the structures. No one was hurt. The fire did burn a lot of the greenery on the ranch and now MacKinnon is cleaning up; repairing fencing, the sprinkler system and covering burned patches with woodchips. MacKinnon says the fire was an added challenge on top of a difficult year. Like many businesses, the Alpine Dog Ranch has been struggling. After seven months of traveling through space, the NASA InSight mission has landed on Mars. A few minutes later, InSight sent the official "beep" to NASA to signal that it was alive and well, including a photo of the Martian surface where it landed.Mission Control at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory exploded into celebratory applause and cheers after the touchdown was confirmed.InSight, or Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport, is going to explore a part of Mars that we know the least about: its deep interior.
