Marathon has agreed to sell one of its subsidiaries, Speedway, to the parent company of 7-Eleven, the Minneapolis Star Tribune and The New York Times reported Sunday.The reports say that Marathon is selling the 4,000 Speedway locations to Seven & I Holdings for billion. The New York Times reports that Seven & I will increase its store count from about 10,000 to about 14,000 with the purchase.Marathon has struggled financially in recent months had has shut down operations in two refineries. MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say a Florida police officer’s wife died after becoming trapped in the back of his patrol vehicle for several hours during a hot afternoon. Investigators are treating the death of 56-year-old Clara Paulino as an accident. She died Friday afternoon while her 58-year-old husband Aristides Paulino was sleeping in their Miami Shores home after finishing a midnight shift. The Miami Herald reports Paulino woke up around 5 p.m. and started looking for his wife, finding her cell phone on the back patio. He and one of his sons found Clara in the vehicle. Officials say she had climbed into the backseat of his marked SUV to find something when the doors somehow closed, and a self-locking mechanism engaged. The vehicle has a partition between the back seat and front seat, meaning Clara could not reach the horn. “It’s literally a cage,” one Miami police officer familiar with the vehicle told the Miami Herald.Temperatures reached over 90 degrees as she spent about four hours in the vehicle. 1037

It was one of the company’s most popular dolls for last year, and Mattel announced it would be the first in a collection.As promised, a version of the doll was released this year. (WAVE) — An autopsy report revealed more details about the shooting death of Breonna Taylor.Taylor, 26, was shot multiple times by Louisville Metro Police Department narcotics officers serving a warrant just after midnight on March 13.Her autopsy was performed on March 14 at 8 a.m. at the Bingham Building.The autopsy showed Taylor was shot in the chest, which caused hemorrhages along the wound path; the right upper abdomen, in her left forearm, in her left thigh and in her right foot. An orange and gray metal projectile was also recovered from her right heel.Following the announcement of the grand jury decision in the case on Sept. 23, Attorney General Daniel Cameron said only one of those shots was fatal.Former LMPD Det. Brett Hankison was charged for shooting 10 rounds from outside Taylor’s apartment; some of those shots ended up in adjacent units, which was why he was indicted.Two other officers, Myles Cosgrove and Jon Mattingly, were found to be justified in their use of force, according to the grand jury.Cameron said evidence showed Mattingly fired six times, and Cosgrove fired 16 shots, and added that both were justified in returning fire after being fired upon. The attorney general also said the FBI lab confirmed the fatal shot came from Cosgrove but the KSP lab said it was not clear who fired the shot.Taylor tested negative for alcohol and drug use postmortem. 1414

McDonald's is investing billion into their fast-food chains. Franchises across the country will be getting a new modern, high-tech look. The fast-food mogul says these updates will enhance the guest experience. Not only is it great for business, but it's great for communities. Franchise operator Laura Bucar says in her 40 years of doing business, McDonald's has never invested this much money into it's existing chains. "When we decide to move on anything, what that creates for the community, as far as jobs and resources, is incredible,” says Bucar. In order to create an incredible experience, McDonald's is investing millions of dollars into nearly every state to update their restaurants.“We just finished ours in July, and I can’t tell you how many electricians and plumbers locally that were sourced to come in, and even digital and technical people and so it really adds to the economy,” says Bucar.Each fast food restaurant is able to customize their artwork inside. Bucar is excited to give visibility to local artists. Not only is McDonald's offering jobs in the community for construction workers, but they are also adding a handful of positions inside their restaurants, too. They include mobile service pickup, table service and a guest enhancement lead (GEL). The GEL will help guest use the new kiosks to order their food when in a rush.  1432
