Photos show what appears to be a person dressed like Hitler at a Halloween event near Las Vegas.The pictures were snapped during a trunk-or-treat Halloween event at Veterans Memorial Park in Boulder City, Nevada on Friday.Folks noticed someone dressed up as Hitler, down to swastikas on the side of his sleeve.The posts quickly spread over the weekend across many Boulder City and Las Vegas Facebook pages.The 12-year-old boy’s father said his son was studying World War II and the evil dictator at school.He says his son just wanted to wear the costume. PAKHOKEE, Fla. – For many growing up in Pahokee, Florida, the storyline has been, a future is defined by what happens on the field.“When I was growing up. It was either NFL or the streets,” said Hikeem Banks.To an outsider, it might seem like football is the bright spot in a city that’s been ranked as one of the most dangerous in that part of Florida."Here in Pahokee, we’re football savvy,” Banks said. “Ricky Jackson, Anquan Boldin, Janoris Jenkins, Pernell McPhee.”"Football means a lot. Most people use football as a way out,” said Pahokee football player Geoffrey Mckelton Jr.Banks is working to change the storyline in his hometown.“If you’re not from here, and you read stories about it, you would think that it’s a horror place,” said Banks.He’s working to make sure this generation has more options than he did.“I’m 5’5” so NFL wasn’t going to work,” Banks said. "I got caught up in in the system doing the wrong things which got me to be kicked out of school in the 9th grade. Resorted to drugs, abusing alcohol.”Banks fought to get his life on track. He earned his GED and college degree. He's now a teacher.Banks started Balanced Living Mentorship. He works with young people, many members of the Pahokee High School football team, to teach them about life.“I believe every kid needs a balanced life outside of football. If you don’t have grades, you can’t go on to the next level,” Banks said.“He’s teaching us to be a better person in life, not just for football,” said Pahokee football player Albert Johnson Jr.Like many who take part in the mentoring program, Johnson Jr. has NFL aspirations, but he also dreams of owning his own tech company one day.“Like they say, the NFL is not for long. And there are a few people who make it the NFL,” he said."Once football is all said and done, what do you want to be? Who do you want to be?” head coach DJ Boldin asked his players during a mentoring session."It’s good to know that there is a generation that is starting to realize that, so they won’t feel like football is the end all be all,” Boldin said.Football will always be a big part of Pahokee’s makeup, but Banks wants the makeup of those who play it to be so much more than that. 2208

Police bodycam footage shows a man body-slamming a suspect who was resisting arrest in Provo, Utah, police said.Officer Austin Williams was responding to a Sam’s Club on July 24 for a welfare check when a man attacked the officer, then fled on foot.As he was fleeing, bodycam video shows an unidentified man lift the suspect in the air and slam him to the ground."Chief Ferguson wants to thank that person for coming to the aid of an officer in need. We take pride in serving and protecting in Provo, so we are grateful to the unknown person who returned the favor and helped us safely take a dangerous person into custody," the department said in a Facebook post.The suspect was arrested and is facing charges including assaulting an officer. 756

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The driver of a stolen ambulance has been nabbed after leading police on a chase through Philadelphia that lasted more than an hour. A police spokesman says the man tried to run over an officer who shot him three times before the chase began. The officer was struck and hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Police say the man stole the emergency vehicle as authorities responded to reports of a domestic disturbance requiring medical attention at a motel.His name wasn't immediately released as he has yet to be charged with a crime. (KGTV) — San Diego Sheriff's deputies are searching for an 81-year-old at-risk man who disappeared Sunday.SDSO said Kenneth Zimmerman was last seen leaving his Descanso-area home to get the newspaper but did not return. Zimmerman suffers from Alzheimer's disease and high blood pressure.He reportedly did not take his blood pressure medication Sunday morning and is not believed to have the medicine with him. He also doesn't own a cell phone.Zimmerman as last seen driving towards Highway 79 from Viejas Boulevard at about 12:30 p.m. Sunday. He was driving a gold 2006 Toyota Tundra single cab with the CA license plate 8E41946. The truck has a black toolbox in the bed.He is described as a white male, 6-feet 2-inches tall, 190 pounds, and has white hair and blue eyes.
