UPDATE: Tuesday's meeting was canceled due to an illness.SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - On Tuesday night, the City of San Diego's Parks and Recreation Department will present two options for redeveloping the De Anza area to the Mission Bay Park Committee.The meeting is open to the public and begins at 6 p.m. at Mission Bay High School.The two plans were released to the public over the summer. Both feature improvements to sports fields, the Mission Bay Golf Course, green space, walking paths, playgrounds and beaches. Both also have new wildlife habitat areas included, although they vary on how many acres (27 or 38). A more detailed look at the plans can be found here.But wildlife preservations groups like the San Diego Audubon Society and ReWild Mission Bay say they don't go far enough to preserve the habitat or protect wildlife.They're calling for up to 200 acres of land set aside. Verizon just admitted that the value of its media brand, Oath, is essentially worthless.Verizon announced Tuesday that it would take a .6 billion writedown on its the media unit, which includes Yahoo and AOL.Oath's brand value is now worth just 0 million, according to Verizon. That's a stunning decrease in value since it formed in 2017. Verizon said Oath's brand was worth .8 billion when it last accounted for the company's goodwill valuation.Verizon snapped up a number of legacy media brands in recent years to create Oath. It bought Yahoo for .5 billion in 2017 and AOL, which owns HuffPost, for .4 billion in 2015.With virtually no goodwill brand value, Oath's overall value (assets and goodwill) is now worth half of what it was a few years ago.The telecommunications giant said the integration of Yahoo and AOL didn't meet expectations.Oath "has experienced increased competitive and market pressures throughout 2018 that have resulted in lower than expected revenues and earnings," according to a filing with the SEC Tuesday. Facebook, Google and Amazon are sucking up ad dollars, forcing publishers to search for other streams for revenue.The Verizon media unit's poor performance led the company to make "unfavorable adjustments to Oath's financial projections" for the next five years.Verizon plans to focus more on wireless technology and less on content and distribution.This summer, Verizon replaced CEO Lowell McAdam with Hans Vestberg, the telecom company's former chief technology officer.In September, Oath CEO Tim Armstrong left. TULSA -- Dash cam video released Monday shows a man smash a Tulsa Police Department vehicle with a large pipe.Police said on Aug. 7 around 4 a.m., officers were dispatched to Brookhaven Hospital for a patient attempting to leave.The man was later found on I-244 eastbound.The man is seen smashing an officer's window. Police said the man was experiencing a mental health crisis.The man was tackled and officers returned him to the hospital.No arrests were made.  475

TULSA -- More details are coming out about the woman who police in Oklahoma say brutally stabbed her 11-year-old daughter Monday night. Friends and family of Taheerah Ahmad said they are in complete shock that the mother could do something like this.Those close to Ahmad painted two different pictures of her. One picture is of a caring mother who loves her children in the public eye, and the other is an abusive, unstable mother inside of her home.“Whenever she would talk about her kids, everything was always positive. She never said anything crazy,” said a former coworker of Ahmad.The coworker, who didn’t want to go on camera with Scripps station KJRH in Tulsa, said she always seemed normal enough.“She would go out with us," the former coworker said. "She would have drinks with us. She just seems like a very nice person.”But as her coworkers got close to her, they said they noticed something was off and would start noticing little things about Ahmad. “I know she went by at least four different names,” a coworker said.Her coworker said whenever a shooting took the life of one of Ahmad's friends last year, Ahmad changed and became sad.Her coworker said she brought up her children all the time and always talked about them in positive ways.But neighbors said that’s just what Ahmad was telling her friends.RELATED: Suspect in Amber Alert, stabbing of daughter seen smiling after arrestMultiple neighbors, who also didn’t want to go on camera, said they often heard screaming from inside the home and said there was something eerie about the house.One neighbor even said several nights in the past week, he would see Ahmad performing what appeared to be rituals late at night around a fire.“I really don’t know if there’s any reasoning behind this, but I just hope whatever is wrong gets fixed,” the neighbor said. The mother is in jail on one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, two counts of child neglect and one count of arson.The 11-year-old’s condition is still critical.  2103
