ANZA, Calif. (KGTV) - A preliminary 3.1-magnitude earthquake jostled the Anza region, sending shivers into the North San Diego County area Saturday.The tremor hit about two miles northeast of Anza, in southern Riverside County, just before 12 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It has a depth of about 7.4 miles.According to the USGS' "Did you feel it?" map, the shakeup could be felt in Temecula and into Orange County, and as far away as Jamul. Most reports were centered around Cathedral City and Anza.There were no immediate reports of damages or injuries.One week ago, magnitude-3.5 and -3.2 earthquakes hit the same region.Multiple aftershocks were recorded following Saturday's earthquake, though most below 1.0. As a variant strain of the coronavirus spreads through the United Kingdom, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, said in an interview on ABC News on Tuesday that it’s possible the variant is in the US."That's certainly possible I mean, when you have this amount of spread within a place like the UK, that you really need to assume that it's here already, and certainly is not the dominant strain, but I would not be surprised at all if it is already here," said Fauci on ABC News.The variant strain has fueled lockdowns and fears in the UK. It also has prompted much of the world to cut off travel to the UK. Health officials fear that the variant strain spreads more easily.The United States has not cut travel between the two countries. Fauci does not expect that to be necessary.“That's not that's not really in the cards right now, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the requirement of testing is something that is being actively considered right now," Fauci said.The CDC reminded the public that viruses often mutate. The CDC added that it’s investigating why this version differs from the disease caused by other versions that are currently circulating.As travel remains permitted between the two nations, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo criticized officials for not cutting off travel. ANAHEIM (CNS) - Disney officials informed Anaheim Wednesday that they have canceled plans for a 700-room luxury hotel at Disneyland Resort in light of the city's decision to scrub tax-incentive deals for the project.The Anaheim City Council voted Aug. 28 to cancel the tax-incentive deals because the project had changed over time, including a new location. An Oregon man was arrested last week and faces multiple criminal charges after attempting to destroy a McDonald's location's "Golden Arches" after he was refused an order of 30 double cheeseburgers. The News-Review first reported the March 17 incident, which took place in Sutherlin, Oregon. Jedediah Ezekiel Fulton was charged with suspicion of second-degree disorderly conduct, second-degree criminal trespass, second-degree criminal mischief and harassment, the News-Review reported. The incident became so scary, a witness inside the McDonald's pulled out a gun out of fear. Fulton allegedly became irate after McDonald's employees refused to fulfill his order of 30 double cheeseburgers. After being refused the order, Fulton allegedly tore down a McDonald's banner and attempted to destroy the location's Golden Arches. Why he was refused the order in the first place is unknown.  934

AMITY, Ind. -- An Indiana family lost nearly a dozen show pigs when several barns caught fire on their farm early Saturday morning. The fire broke out in the Amity, Indiana area of Johnson County between Franklin and Edinburgh just before 6 a.m. The Amity Fire Department Chief Jackie Brockman said several structures were already up in flames when crews arrived on the scene. The pigs were being raised by the owner's 9-year-old and 13-year-old sons. Firefighters were able to contain the fire so it did not spread to a nearby barn where the family housed several other pigs and those pigs are safe. The cause of the fire remains under investigation but Chief Brockman says they believe it was accidental.   974
