GREEN BAY, Wisc. — A man was arrested for his seventh OWI after police say he threw stolen beer and meat out of his van with officers in pursuit. The Brown County Sheriff's Office received a call from a supermarket that Timothy Andrews, who was on their watch list for retail theft, was in the store. Authorities spotted Andrews inside a van in the parking lot and deputies say he claimed to have knives and gun when they approached him.Andrews refused to get out of the van, according to investigators, and sped away from the deputies, throwing stolen beer, meat and clothing out of the window during the high-speed chase. Authorities say the van lost control at least twice during the chase, as it weaved in and out of oncoming traffic on busy streets. "Pursuits are always a balance. You're always trying to balance public safety with the apprehension of the person. And in this case, this man was doing a lot of things," Brown County Sheriff's Capt. Dan Sandberg said. The van finally spun out of control and stopped on a residential street where the suspect was arrested. Andrews, 48, faces several charges in the case including 7th offense OWI, probation violation, obstructing an officer, shoplifting and retail theft.   1280

Glen “Big Baby” Davis, former NBA player best known for his role on the 2008 championship Boston Celtics, was arrested at a Hampton Inn in Aberdeen, Maryland last month.According to court records, the hotel owner smelled marijuana coming from Davis' room on February 7th.When the owner knocked on room 208, someone inside the room told him to “F--- off!”Aberdeen police then responded to the hotel and Davis gave signed consent to search his room"They recovered 126 grams of marijuana,” said Aberdeen Police Lieutenant William Reiber, “In addition to that there was a brief case that contained ,164 of U.S. currency along with a ledger that contained language which is consistent with someone involved in the sale and distribution of narcotics."The ledger was of names of people of who owed money along with baggies for individual packaging of a quarter pound of marijuana.The strains were called "Sour D" and "Berry," all from a Los Angeles wholesaler court records show Davis told police he was in business with.It all resulted Davis’ arrest followed by an indictment weeks later on seven counts of drug possession and distribution.Aberdeen Police say it was during the booking process when it became apparent who Davis is in the sports world.He told officers he was in Harford County, Maryland visiting family."There was a statement that was made about the purpose of the trip but at the end of the day we don't know exactly,” Lt. Reiber said, “There was an investigation, it is still ongoing. GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers overnight killed the bear they suspect attacked a 5-year-old girl early Sunday morning near Grand Junction.CPW says they saw the bear they believe to have been involved in the attack walking up to a home about a half-mile away from where the girl was attacked in east Orchard Mesa. The bear was killed before it entered one of three traps that had been set.The agency said officers are “confident” the bear is the same one involved in the attack based on its behavior, but they will continue searching for other bears in the area.The bear’s carcass will be transported to the CPW Wildlife Health Laboratory in Fort Collins for a necropsy."The necropsy, along with DNA results will provide the confirmation, but we are confident we have the right bear," said Area Wildlife Manager Kirk Oldham. "However, we will leave all three traps in place for the time being out of an abundance of caution."The girl, 5-year-old Kimberly Cyr, had gone outside around 2:30 a.m. Sunday to investigate noises she thought were coming from her dog, her mother told CPW officials.But the mother heard her daughter screaming and went outside to see a “large black bear” dragging her daughter. The bear dropped the girl when her mother screamed.Cyr was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Grand Junction, where she received around six-dozen stitches, her mother said.
