A driver called the kitchen at the juvenile center saying they had 800 pounds of fajitas to drop off.The center did not serve fajitas, but the driver said he had been delivering the meat to the center for nine years. After the driver spilled the beans, investigators found packages of fajitas in Escamilla's fridge where he reportedly sold the meat to separate buyers.Escamilla was fired from his job in August.The-CNN-Wire 865
A Charlotte County, Florida mom was arrested Wednesday morning after she accidentally ran into her son in the drop-off area of the Port Charlotte High School parking lot.According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, 49-year-old Nadine Williams has a suspended license and gave false identification at the scene. A Lake Geneva, Wisconsin family is trying to raise money to bring their teenager home from a trip overseas where he became ill.Nathan Dyer traveled to Morocco with his cousin Ashley Benyamina and her husband Mohammed who is from the North African country. He fell ill on April 15 and is now in a coma receiving care in Paris. The beginning of the trip was great, Ashley and Mohammed said, and Nathan was enjoying everything the country had to offer.“He was in the desert running in the dunes, he was climbing mountains we were playing soccer in the streets,” Mohammed said. Then when the three returned to Marrakesh, Nathan started exhibiting symptoms of what they thought was travelers sickness. Doctors gave him antibiotics and told him he’d be better in three or four days. That didn’t happen, so they made another doctor’s appointment.“The appointment was like at 3 p.m. and at 2 p.m. He said, 'I’m really not feeling well, I think I have to go' and then he collapsed on the floor," Ashley said. Nathan has been in a coma ever since. Nathan had traveler’s insurance which got him transported by air ambulance to Paris for better care. That’s where he remains now.His mother has flown there to be with him. His insurance maxed out at ,000 for the trip from Morocco to Paris. Now family members have set up a?GoFundMe.com?page to help with expenses. Doctors still aren’t exactly sure what is wrong with Nathan. He is currently receiving blood plasma transfusions and still remains in a coma-like state. 1575
A Las Vegas doctor says plastic surgery is on the rise nationwide as more young people are suffering from a new disorder called "Snapchat Dysmorphia."According to an article published in JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery, doctors are seeing more patients request a thinner nose, fuller lips and eyelid surgery.Dr. Daliah Wachs said those who suffer from this disorder feel that their face or body is flawed, solely based on what they see on social media.Apps like Snapchat and Instagram allow users to manipulate their photos using filters that can do things like enhance lighting or even slim your face or body. Wachs said this is concerning because social media users can lose touch with reality, feeling that the filtered selfies are how someone should look all the time and think surgery is the answer.According to Wachs, the most common minimally invasive cosmetic procedures reported were: 937
