Baton Rouge Police Officer Blane Salamoni has been fired for violating use-of-force polices in the Alton Sterling shooting, Chief Murphy Paul told reporters Friday evening while also releasing four videos, several of which graphically show Sterling as he lay dying.Paul said Howie Lake II, the other officer involved in the July 2016 incident, will be suspended for three days without pay for losing his temper during the incident.The four videos that were released include a convenience store surveillance video, two police-worn body camera videos and a video recorded by the dashboard camera in one of the police cars.Video from Lake's body camera shows the officer approaching Sterling, trying to get him to put his hands on the hood of a car, and eventually struggling with him on the ground. During the altercation, another person, presumably Officer Blane Salamoni, screams, "He's got a gun!" and soon thereafter gunshots are heard.When the officers get up, Sterling is lying on the ground outside the front door of the convenience store with a blood-soaked red shirt.The gun is not visible in the video but Lake tells another officer he put it in his car. The officers had been responding to a call about a man with a gun. The call was from a homeless man who said that after he approached Sterling for money, Sterling showed him the weapon.CNN is reviewing the other videos.The two officers had separate disciplinary hearings Thursday night. Paul said Salamoni chose not to answer any questions at his disciplinary hearing. BARNEGAT LIGHTHOUSE STATE PARK, N.J. — A dead whale is sitting on a New Jersey state park beach after a Christmas storm blew through the northeast.The humpback whale is near Barnegat Lighthouse State Park in Ocean County. It is unclear at this time how the roughly 20-foot-long whale died, according to the Marine Mammal Stranding Center, a marine animal focused organization that responded to the whale Saturday. They said it could have been hit by a boat or something else during the storm, or died from contracting a disease. In addition to coming ashore on a holiday weekend, when few state employees are working, the below-freezing temperatures are also delaying the whale’s removal.“The whale’s too frozen,” Bob Schoelkopf, the director of the Marine Mammal Stranding Center said. “We can’t even cut into the blubber, it’s too thick and frozen.”Schoelkopf believes the dead whale was washed ashore on Christmas Eve, then taken back out to sea on Christmas as a large storm came through, and then came back ashore Saturday.Anyone visiting the area should stay clear, Schoelkopf said, because of the possibility for diseases to be in the carcass.Whale watching boats had spotted the whale alive earlier this year in Sandy Hook bay, where it had been photographed feeding, Schoelkopf said.In September, a different humpback whale was found dead off the Jersey Shore after being entangled. BOSTON (AP) — Four more parents pleaded guilty on Monday in the college admissions bribery scandal, and a Texas man accused of helping to orchestrate the scheme also agreed to reverse his plea and accept guilt.Parents Douglas Hodge, Michelle Janavs, Manuel Henriquez and Elizabeth Henriquez entered guilty pleas in Boston's federal court Monday after previously pleading not guilty. Each faces charges of money laundering and conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud.Martin Fox, the president of a private tennis club in Houston, also agreed to plead guilty by Nov. 20 in a deal that prosecutors announced Monday. He is charged with racketeering.Authorities say Fox brokered bribes to help wealthy parents cheat on their children's college entrance exams at a Houston testing site. He's also accused of arranging bribes to get two students admitted to the University of San Diego as recruited athletes, and one student to the University of Texas. He will return the 5,000 he received through the scheme, according to his plea deal.Fifteen other parents previously pleaded guilty as part of plea agreements. Prosecutors agreed to request lighter sentences for those parents since they took responsibility earlier.
