The Cruise Lines International Association announced Monday new regulations for cruising in the Americas.The association, which represents major global cruise lines, said cruises could start back up soon "with support and approval of regulators and destinations.""We recognize the devastating impact that this pandemic, and the subsequent suspension of cruise operations, has had on economies throughout the world, including the nearly half a million members of the wider cruise community and small businesses in the Americas who depend on this vibrant industry for their livelihoods," CLIA president, CEO Kelly Craighead said in the press release. "Based on what we are seeing in Europe, and following months of collaboration with leading public health experts, scientists, and governments, we are confident that these measures will provide a pathway for the return of limited sailings from the U.S. before the end of this year."The new rules include everyone being tested for COVID-19 before embarking and mandatory mask-wearing for everyone onboard.Also, everyone must abide by physical distancing. The Federal Bureau of Investigation has asked the public’s help in identifying members of a female gang who have been spotted in Middle Tennessee.  The FBI said Felony Lane Gang members use rental cars with tinted windows to watch you and your car in parking lots at gyms, daycares or anywhere someone might leave a purse in a car.They have been spotted in Nashville, Mt. Juliet, Gallatin and several other towns around the Metro area.When they see an opportunity, they'll swipe IDs, credit cards and checkbooks. Then, they hand all of that over to prostitutes and drug users they recruit to impersonate victims.Those women take stolen checks and IDs to multiple banks to withdraw large amounts of money -- all before the victims have a chance to close their accounts.According to authorities, they use the farthest window from the teller in bank drive-thru lanes. This drive-thru lane is commonly known as the "felony lane," which is what inspired their nickname.Investigators said they’re known to use wigs and other disguises to impersonate their victims at banks. The Defense Department has temporarily grounded all of its 245 F-35 fighter jets for inspection of a potentially faulty engine part in the wake of last month's crash in South Carolina.Initial data from the ongoing investigation into the September 28 crash indicates a fuel tube may have been faulty. In response, all US military F-35s will be inspected as well as F-35s operated by US allies."If suspect fuel tubes are installed, the part will be removed and replaced. If known good fuel tubes are already installed, then those aircraft will be returned to flight status," the Defense Department said in a statement.Inspections are expected to be completed within the next two days, the statement said, and a defense official told CNN some aircraft have already been returned to flight status.The initial assessment is the faulty tube may be on older models of the aircraft, but all are being inspected. 911

The British Broadcasting Corporation has reportedly opened an investigation into how journalist Martin Bashir secured Princess Diana's 1995 interview with the network after a shocking allegation aired during a two-part documentary on the British network ITV on Monday and Tuesday.According to USA Today, Bashir allegedly asked a graphic designer to create fake bank statements to persuade Princess Diana to talk to him on camera.According to the New York Times, doubts rose about how Bashir obtained the interview, but an earlier BBC internal investigation exonerated him.During the Nov. 20, 1995 interview, which aired on the BBC's program Panorama, the Princess spoke about how she desperately wanted her marriage to Prince Charles to work. The cost of education can last a lifetime, as many people into their 50s and 60s are finding out.According to Federal Reserve, 2.8 million people in the U.S. over the age of 60 are sitting on some amount of student debt, a number that quadrupled from 700,000 in 2005 and continues to grow.“This is really a sledgehammer against the older generation in more ways than one,” says Alan Collinge, creator of online advocacy group for borrowers Student Loan Justice.Collinge has been campaigning for change surrounding laws for student loans since 2005, after trying to figure out a way to pay off his own crippling college costs.“It’s a really devastating phenomenon, and I’m seeing it destroy, literally wreck, families across the country,” Collinge says. In 2018, Americans over the age of 50 owed more than 0 billion in student loans, up from billion in 2004, according to the Federal Reserve.And most can’t afford to pay, forcing retirees to continue to work well past retirement age.“The problem has become exponentially worse since we began this fight 13 years ago,” he says.In Collinge’s group, he hears stories from people ages 18 to 80 years old, who can hardly afford to live, let alone retire.“The federal government can and does garnish Social Security from seniors as a result of their student loans, so we’re hearing stories from people who at the end of the month they’re unable to buy medicine even unable to pay their rent,” Collinge says, “What kind of country does this to their senior people?”On top of that, Collinge says more people in their 50s and 60s are taking out Parent Plus loans to help their children and grandchildren pay for college, which adds to the financial burden.“This is a nationally threatening phenomenon,” he said. Through his advocacy group, he tries to offer help and resources to folks who are struggling.
