Staffers at Westview High School arrived for workWednesday morning to find the campus marred by offensive graffiti, includingswastikas.   San Diego police received a call about the vandalism at the TorreyHighlands secondary school shortly before 7 a.m., SDPD public-affairs OfficerBilly Hernandez said.   No suspects in the crime were immediately identified.   Tina Ziegler, principal of the Camino del Sur school, stated in amessage to parents that "campus security and custodians responded immediately,covering the (defaced) area to prevent students' exposure" to the graffiti.   "The actions of this person or group of people do not reflect thepride we take in our campus and the safe learning environment that WestviewHigh School and the Poway Unified School District strive to provide ourstudents," Ziegler said. Seven members of President Trump’s Cabinet told Scripps News they do not fly on private jets paid for by taxpayers.Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price drew attention for taking five private jet flights on official business last week instead of flying commercially. His staff said using a private plane allowed him to maximize his time on the ground managing hurricane preparation and recovery efforts.“Commercial travel is not always feasible,” Price spokeswoman Charmaine Yoest said.We asked other members of the president’s Cabinet if they travel for official business on private jets, instead of taking a commercial flight or government plane. The responses show a different approach to private jet use, varying by agency.Cabinet secretaries who have not flown taxpayer-funded private jets include HUD Secretary Ben Carson, Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin and Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue, according to their spokespeople.Perdue has flown to disaster sites on military aircraft and to remote areas on forest service aircraft, his office said. Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao “insists on flying commercial and does so whenever possible,” a department spokeswoman said. St. Louis Zoo officials are trying to solve the mystery of how a 62-year-old ball python laid seven eggs without being around a male python for at least two decades. An expert at the zoo says it’s unusual but not rare for ball pythons to reproduce asexually. Pythons also sometimes store sperm for delayed fertilization. The zoo say the birth is also unusual because ball pythons stop laying eggs long before they reach their 60s. The python laid the eggs in July. Three of the eggs remain in an incubator, two were used for genetic sampling and snakes in the other two eggs did not survive. 599

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — South Dakota investigators say that Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg reported hitting a deer with his car on Saturday night but actually killed a pedestrian whose body was not found until the next day. Ravnsborg's office has said he immediately called 911 after the accident. The Department of Public Safety said Monday only that he told the Hyde County Sheriff's Office that he had hit a deer and did not say whether he reported the crash in a 911 call. The man was identified as 55-year-old Joseph Boever.He was not found until Sunday morning.According to the DPS, the incident happened one mile west of Highmore, South Dakota at 10:30 p.m. CT.Ravnsborg was not injured, DPS said. 715
