INDIANAPOLIS — As he prepares for his seventh round of chemotherapy to treat leukemia, Pastor Arvery J. Bush is looking for a match.Pastor Bush, who was diagnosed in July, is preparing to undergo his seventh round of chemotherapy."In my life, I have to walk by faith and not by sight," Pastor Bush said. That used to be the church motto at Christian Faith Missionary Baptist Church, but now those words have taken on a life of their own for Pastor Bush."If I go by what I see, I would have given up a long time ago. I would have thrown in the towel," Pastor Bush said.Pastor Bush's life has been a journey of twists and turns ever since he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia five months ago."They told me I had a chromosome called Philadelphia Chromosome," he said. "One out of five have it, I just happened to be one of those ones."Due to the genetic abnormality, there's a chance the cancer will keep coming back without a bone marrow transplant. Friendship Missionary Baptist Church will hold a bone marrow registry drive from 2-5 p.m. Sunday. People can also register online by going to use page on 1127
It may seem like an ordinary scene: Children and adults playing on pink seesaws, carelessly laughing and chatting with each other. But this is a playground unlike any other. These custom-built seesaws have been placed on both sides of a slatted steel border fence that separates the United States and Mexico. The idea for a "Teeter-Totter Wall" came from Ronald Rael, an architecture professor at the University of California, Berkeley, and Virginia San Fratello, an associate professor of design at San Jose State University -- and it was a long time coming. In 2009, the two designed a concept for a binational seesaw at the border for a book, "Borderwall as Architecture," which uses "humor and inventiveness to address the futility of building barriers," 768

Law enforcement officials on Sunday identified the man who killed seven people and wounded 22 others in a shooting spree in West Texas as Seth Ator, 36.Ator was arrested in 2001 for criminal trespass and evading arrest, both misdemeanors, according to public records. Adjudication was deferred, though the details of the case were not immediately available. His record also includes a 2018 traffic citation for a federal motor carrier safety violation, according to Ector County court records.Ator was pulled over by Texas troopers in Midland on Saturday afternoon for failing to use his signal, police said. He then shot at them with what police described as an AR-type weapon and sped away. Driving on streets and the highway, he sprayed bullets randomly at residents and motorists, police said. The man then hijacked a postal truck and ditched his gold Honda, shooting at people as he made his way into Odessa about 20 miles away. There, police confronted him in a movie theater parking lot and killed him in a shootout.Among the wounded were a 17-month-old girl and three law enforcement officers, hospital and police officials said. It's unclear what his motive was. Authorities say they believe the shooter acted alone. The attack during the busy Labor Day weekend put people on edge 1299
